2 years ago |Just bought SAL70200G on last sunday for 1900eur (in Finland). Today price increased at the same store to 2300eur. That means 400eur price increase for this lense! I might be lucky now, but I feel sad for this kind of news
Btw. this lense was on that list that price increase shouldn’t effect on..

2 years ago |I have a question, the FF cameras that are scheduled to come out at the end of this year and in early 2013, do you have a ballpark range price of each of them?

My last chance with Sony? Or Sony’s last chance with me?

I’m still upset. In fact, I’m upset every time I gas up and know that a gallon of gasoline will keep rising, but I don’t think its a big of deal as some are making it out to be.

of course everything is getting more expensive, a 2% annual inflation is healthy inflation, even better then 0% or deflation.
if you want a lens, just get it now~ simple, and your equipment would be worth more in a month, a win-win~

2 years ago |A99 should cost more money too. The yen is still high and Sony needs to recover money from last quarter.

You are not factoring in OPEC. Case closed.
As for the lenses, get them now if you can to use for your personal use
But to those buying them to sell them in a month’s time at $100 increase, there are a million people using that same logic. You’re not going to make as much money as you think lol

2 years ago |Crude Futures factors in OPEC already, since OPEC is what decides the supply of future crude.
Im just saying it’s “worth” more, not buying it all up for resale, if you want to do that, then become part of the sony retailer network and you’ll get them even cheaper.

2 years ago |Canon fanboys drinking the kool-aid and being delusional again. If Sony cease production ever, I will get a Nikon D800E not 5Dmk3. If I am cash strapped, then Canon 5D mark ii maybe… considering 5Dmk3 isn’t revolutionary of a change compared to mark ii. The only thing revolutionary about the camera is the price. How do you like the $500 jump?

2 years ago |6 fps … 22 mp … iso up to 100.000 and 100% ovf … keep dreaming sony
canon will rule them all

2 years ago |So what? And you are taking nicer photos because of the 5D mark iii? Get real buddy. Let’s show us some of your awesome photos and let your fine arts do the talking.

2 years ago |61af point, 102,400 ISO with Digi5, 100%ovf with info screen overlay are quantum leap and complement most most of 5Dm2 shortfall. It would be a big news if Sony announce the same class FF at this moment.
If not, I worry most FF user will switch to D800 or 5Dm3
FlashX
2 years ago |Those are nice addition to fix the bitches every Canon 5D mark ii owners are complaining about. Nothing of the revolutionary variety. I guess the screen overlay can be interesting if implemented correctly. To me, not worth $3500 in that package.
I have seen rebates program from Canon from time to time selling the 5Dm2 body for $1999 brand new. Probably less in excellent condition used. So does the extra $1500 really worth “61af point, 102,400 ISO with Digi5, 100%ovf with info screen overlay”. I can get a 5Dm2 body and an A77 for that price. Is there anything I can do easier or was never possible with 5Dm3 where I cannot do with 5Dm2?
If A99 is priced correctly ($2000-$2500) and have a full frame sensor with the A77 feature set plus a few more pro features like tethering, I don’t see why it can’t compete with D800 or 5Dm3.

2 years ago |All of the full-frame lens on this list are old Minolta lenses rebranded by Sony and need to be updated with modern motors, coatings, optics and hopefully a little weather sealing. Each of them are prime candidates to be replaced and maybe included aspart of the lens announcement rumor.
Lower the price and sell the old inventory and then announce new versions.
I’m hoping for a Zeiss 50f1.4 and a Zeiss 100f2.8 macro

2 years ago |I will not fall for the marketing ploy, no matter how permanent. I will buy when I am ready to and not before. If the price increases, I will appropriately adjust My timetable to purchase lenses. There are several “I would like”, but not many that I really need. I am more than willing to use my legs to walk forward or after to get the picture that I want instead of dishing out money for a lens of convenience.
