Working on new A77, A57(?), 16-50mm, NEX-7 and 24mm Zeiss rumors.

The NEX-C3 and A35 have been announced and I wanted to “warn you” new rumors will come soon! Stay tuned on SonyAlphaRumors!
There is only one thing that worries me about the NEX-7. As you know the Sony NEX-C3 and A35 will come in August only and the 30mm macro will be in Stock even later…in October! It worries me because this might be a sign that Sony has indeed some production issues. While the A77 and A57 (don’t know the name yet) will be announced in early July….will the NEX-7 and Zeiss 24mm lens might be delayed? Photoscala reports that Japanese companies produced 30% less cameras and lenses compared to last year (April 2011 vs April 2010 comparison). I repeat I have no confirmation that the NEX-7 has been delayed, but I am a bit worried that not a single source sent me some new info about the NEX-7.

Meanwhile, keep visiting the website daily. I am getting more hands-on reports of people testing the A77! They are all really happy with the camera. Can’t wait to see it for real!!!

3 years ago |The U.S. site lists the A33, 35 (preorder), and 55. The A390, 580, and 900 are the only SLR’s listed. So it looks like the A35 will finally replace the A33 and the SLR counterparts (200 and 300 series). The 560 certainly had a short run. I assume the A55 replacement will take the place of A580 once they phase it out?
I was looking because I sent my A580 in for cleaning (dial/dust issue), and they called and offered to refund me for the full amount. Either that, or I could wait indefinitely until the part arrived. It looks like the supply problems in Japan are surfacing. I opted for the refund, but now, what should I get? I wish the A77 were available now, so I won’t have to get an interim body.

I’d get a used A200/350, at least you will not lose much on resale.

3 years ago |I pondered over getting a used NEX-5, but I just can’t go for another six (?) months without fully using my A-mount lenses and HSS flash. Yes, I have the A-mount adapter from my previous foray with the nice NEX-5, but I opted for another A580. How much longer do you guys think the A580 will remain on the market? Not that I’m worried. I will be taking pictures just as well. Cheers.

3 years ago |If Sony has issues in manufacturing the top cameras, that could be a problem for new lines like the Nex.
The Nex system lacks almost all desirable lenses, and counts solely on its sensor primacy.
It could be in Sony’s interest to recognise the problem in public, and announce the Nex-7 anyway, fixing a late delivery date. At least many mirrorless “newcomers” would know that investing money in the current cameras would not be for nothing…

I don’t know how many others care about this, but I had understood that several new full-frame lenses would be announced this year. The year is now half over and the only specific rumor I remember is about a BIG telephoto lens that has been trotted-out at industry shows for some time now.
Do you have anything to share as to what and when, or do you think its not going to happen this year?

3 years ago |The thing is that the Fukushima desaster changed the roadmap (as you have seen from the delayed NEX-C3 and A35 release). I do expect a 2-4 months delay on all products. I hope the japanese government will fix the power shortages that are currently affecting many regions in Japan. I have been told that by Spetember/October everything should be fixed. As soon as I have reliable info about Zeiss lenses I will post them here. Don’t worry!

3 years ago |as far as the 30mm is concerned i don;t mind if they never bring it out… they should do some 50′s ASAP cause they are easier to make in a small size.

3 years ago |30mm is 45mm on aps-c a normal lens, and thats the focal length in which its easiest to make a fast lens on the aps-c sensor.

3 years ago |Do you have any info on alpha mount 35/1.8 FF Zeiss lens? It has been shown as prototype along with a900 camera body, 24/2 prime and 16-35/2.8 zoom. However, it has not been released yet. Any rumors?
I ask this because 24/1.7 for crop may be the same lens as 35/1.8 for FF, but just increased in size proportionally.

3 years ago |I think it’s interesting to find out if it’s possible what’s the future for the Nex cameras. Will a Nex-5 replacement arrive this fall, different from the Nex-7 and will Nex-5 be sold until then or it would get discontinued this summer, without a direct replacement. From the Nex-C3 some feature that are found on the Nex-5 (1080 video and IR sensor) are missing and I think that all the people who preferred the Nex 5 grip vs the Nex 3 will also not like the grip from the Nex-C3.

3 years ago |Why did Sony acquire Minolta? I’m using FD lenses with my NEX5 for crying out loud. It has been a whole year and they haven’t come out with one good quality fast prime. Not even from a third party, anyone know why?
Even if they release the NEX7 by September they still don’t have the lenses to back it up.
No more investing in Sony from me unless they sort things out.

3 years ago |Sadly that A77 will be only on later autumn. It means that here in Russia I will get only at NewYear ;(( A580 for now is good, but not perfect – and already repaired in Sony service with changing sistemboard of camera and corrected AF board.

3 years ago |I dont know what the 60d and d5100 screen link is like but aparently they tested diferent screen hinge mechanisems on the A77 prototypes and picked from them after testing. Unfortunatly europeans (inc Brits) pay more as we get a 1 to exchange to doller. So Body price will be approx 999 Euros. However befor getting to worried check out launch list price of oposition and you will find most of them about 1200 + though they are available much cheaper so by dec/jan prices should be falling bellow 899 online.
