UPDATE: there is another good news for our USA readers. As you can see from the screenshot above (Thanks William!) the NEX-7 will start shipping tomorrow from Sonystyle!

6 months ago |I preordered mine through Best Buy about a month ago and my credit card just got charged. I was told that my card wouldn’t get charged until my item was in stock and ready to ship to me. I hope that means mine is about to come home!

6 months ago |Bad news for me, I preordered NEX-7 and I called SonyStore yesterday and they told me that nothing is being shipped and also that next update about NEX-7 is Dec 22.
This morning I received an email from SonyStore
Hello YU MATSUI,
Sony is continuing to work on obtaining information about when your new NEX7K/B will be on hand and shipping, unfortunately at this time there is no new information. Production capacity for this model has been severely limited, and will continue to be as we continue to rebuild and recover from the flooding in Thailand and its impact on our manufacturing facilities and overall supply chain. We’re continuing to push forward to restore full production capability of the NEX-7 and other affected models.
We hope to have more information to provide you within the next week.

6 months ago |Well, I ordered the NEX-7 body from Amazon on August 24. Went to check on the status of that order last night and found out it had been cancelled. I never received any notice of it. So, looks like I’m waiting until February. Bummer.
I ordered the Zeiss 24 at the same time and it has shipped. I’m not sure why they would cancel one and not the other. They sent me several status updates on the 24 giving me the option to cancel, but no such communication with the NEX-7.

6 months ago |After a certain amount of time if the item is still back ordered they will cancel the order. That varies from store to store though. Best Buy has a 10 day policy for backorders. After 10 days it automatically cancels the order in their system so after I preordered mine in I called them up and they extended my backorder wait period til the end of January so it wouldn’t cancel.

6 months ago |I ordered a NEX 7 from Sony when it was announced back in September but I did not receive any email notices saying that the camera will be shipped today. I called Sony USA today (12/13/11) to check the status and I was told that no NEX 7 shipments are scheduled for today. No NEX 7 shipments have gone out and that they have no new warehouse information about deliveries in December. So I am not sure the above information was correct or if it was for the USA market. I did receive the Sony 24/1.8 today…

6 months ago |I gave up on the NEX7 w/24~lens combo and decided to feed my addiction in another way. I have the CZ 135/1,8 sitting on my desk waiting for the A77 or possibly the A99 (if I have the patients). Perhaps it will be paid off by the time the body rolls around.

6 months ago |If the NEX follows the same timeframe as the 24 1.8, we should know in a couple of days. There was a 3-4 day delay on the 24 1.8, so I would expect the same, however, SONY maybe stingy on this one and only fill orders from the sony store.

6 months ago |This blows. Made my order on 08/26 for a kit NEX-7 and still nothing… so much for that awesome X-Mas gift (for myself).
In my opinion Sony hasn’t done the best job managing this. They said they’d send an email every two weeks. That has only happened once. The last update was a week late. They’ve also confused things with the post on their blog that some units are shipping. Which units? To who? Why are you showing a kit unboxing if only bodies are shipping?
Kinda frustrating that I ordered mine before others and they are getting their units before me. Glad some of you are getting to enjoy the NEX-7. Just jealous I’m not one of them
