8 months ago |Update: the seller marked it as shipped via EMS to California. (eBay tracking shows it in transit, so only risk now is that there’s no lens in the box or the lens is shite.) Estimated to arrive next week. Excited!

8 months ago |Yeah I’m very nervous about the transaction, but I have had no problems getting a refund from eBay and Paypal when there’s an issue with a transaction. Particularly because the seller has no history and I have a LOT of history, I’m sure I can get my money back if the transaction goes sour.
So due to China’s Independence Day the shipping has been delayed. My nervousness continues. But given the manufacturer, I’m guessing eBay will be the only way to get this lens and I will get the lens in time for a work trip to Houston where I can get some quality time with the lens.

8 months ago |Why do you need a firmware update for the NEX-7? I assume you don’t mean the Zeiss needs it. I own both and I’ve had no issues with either.

Those are holes in the hood. Serve no purpose here.
Vented hoods were made for rangefinders in order to block less in the viewfinder.
The hood itself could have been a bit deeper, though. Most hoods for cropped sensors could be a bit deeper actually.

8 months ago |Take that RX100 sensor, put it in HX200 body, slap a 24-300mm lens in there, instant bestseller!
Ben
8 months ago |Someone already compared it to SLR 0.95 to the Voigtlanger 1.2

8 months ago |And is there any warranty for the lens?
Thrud
8 months ago |arghh, why is it silver and why does it have white white or silver on the inside of the lens hood? Wouldn’t that have a chance of reflecting more glare?
Hope the reviews are good, was keen on getting one.

8 months ago |I’m not a big of the pointy corner bokeh that starts at f1.4, I wish the blades were a little more rounded or something to take that edge off. I’d like to see this tested along side the upcoming Sony 35/1.8, SLR Magic’s two 35mm’s, an adapted Voigtlander 35/1.2 and the slightly slower but very good Samyang 35/1.4 – all of which I’d choose before this.

8 months ago |Remember when the nex had no 50mm equivalent lenses? Soon we will have the sigma 2.8, Sony 1.8, Zeiss 1.8, mitikon 0.95, SLR magic 0.95, and SLR magic 1.4
They all cropped up rather quickly!

8 months ago |If you read between the lines, NO RETURNS ACCEPTED. That is a lot to spend for a lens with no warranty and from a seller with 0 sales feedback. The seller also have no other copies after buying so if there is an issue exchange is not even possible.

8 months ago |The seller has one sale and no feedback. I have my doubts about spending that much money with an “unknown” seller.

The availability is a bit of a downer tho. I got mine from a Sony employee.

Will do. ;^D Should have for my trip to Vegas & Hawaii at the end of October.

8 months ago |An f/1.2 increment would make no sense, aperture values by f-stop go from f/2 to f/1.4 to f/1. F/.95 is close enough to f/1.
As an aside, I would love to test this lens out first-hand on my NEX-7.

8 months ago |I didn’t have any problem getting my Zeiss. My wife and I decided that we wanted it. I checked Sony’s website and ordered it. It came in three days later. Awesome lens. Totally amazed. Made me fall in love with my 7 all over again.
If only they would release a firmware update
Chris
8 months ago |No f1.2 increment?? Am i missing something? Or do all 0.95 lenses skip the 1.2 aperture on the lens?
