A7 competition: The mock attack from Nikon. Fuji gets more serious.

Everyone will agree that at least one goal has been already reached. Sony got the attention from the full photography world. Also Canon and Nikon camera owners are looking closely to the A7 camera series. And at least on the rumor front the competition is now actively trying to grab some attention:

Nikon: Two days after the announcement Nikonrumors reported that a new hybrid and old design styled camera would be announced soon. For a short moment the buzz started and said that Nikon would announce an A7 competitor. But now we know the camera isn’t hybrid or mirrorless at all. It’s an F-mount camera with a [shoplink 22199 ebay]retro F3 alike design[/shoplink]. Certainly a nice camera but also certainly not an A7 challenger.

Fuji: Fuji rumors are way more interesting. According to Fujirumors they will launch a X200 with Full Frame sensor and on sensor image stabilization. The camera will arrive in 2014. But also in that case there is one big difference with the A7. The camera has a fixed lens and it will compete against the RX1 series.

Canon fun: Nothing on the horizon at Canon. So you have look over to Leicaboss to read a funny fake Canon announcement :)

It may be that Sony has a 6-12 months advantage over the competition. They now should focus on quickly expanding the system further to maintain their advantage!
