Batis 2/40 CF currently has some hiccups with Eye-AF and AF with focus magnifier, yes.
Zeiss is aware of the problem and is investigating the possible cause if it is lens, body or something else. This is on high priority.
Batis 2/40 CF stops maximum of two stops at the MFD. So, f/2 becomes f/4 (not f/8). This happens to sustain high image quality. There are other lenses that does this too, Sony ones too (ie. a common practice with some lenses).
Someone have had a rough customer experience with Zeiss, but currently Zeiss admits that there is a problem and is investigating it. If it is a lens, quite likely a firmware update will fix it.

The Japanese company Torii Koubou announced the new α7III/α7RIII/α9 Ever-ready case. And probably unique in this panorama is their additional grip extension case. The one big issue is that I have found no way to buy this outside of the Japanese Torri online store. Any suggestions on how I can get one?

Simon: “Since 2015 I work with the Sony A7RII. I am a full-time photographer from Germany and I shoot for Playboy. The main reason I switched to Sony was the weight and ISO behavior in low light. Recently when working on a Playboy set, the Playmate approached me and asked “I always thought, professional photographers have big cameras?”. This made me laugh, but I don’t want to blame her. Not everyone’s a tech nerd and knows about camera gear developments.
I just released my new coffee table book. It is called ‘Sublime’ (French: breath-taking) and features 23 beautiful women that I photographed in awe-inspiring places. It could possibly be one of the first coffee table books out there that was fully produced with a Sony camera.
