Some A99 and A77 picture comparisons. A99 has no built-in Flash!

Rumor update: There was a small important error in the A99 specs transcription I posted yesterday. There is no built-in flash in the A99!

SAR readers sent me some very useful image comparison between the A99 and the [shoplink 8461]A77[/shoplink] and A900. The image on top is from Chad (Click on it to enlarge the picture).
Rob sent me this:  “Put together a size comparison of the a99+a77, as is obvious, the a99 is wider at the left hand side of the camera, and taller too ;D Sweet! http://i48.tinypic.com/2431653.jpg
Ren sent me this: “Here is a link to an overlay I did of the a99 and a77 for size comparison. Thought you might want to share. http://www.goldeneraphoto.com/People/sony-a99/25262338_PXXvpq#!i=2074631963&k=XDRJp9z”
Thank you all guys!

(SR5) Hot: First Sony A99 image leak (via xitek)

An anonymous reader sent us this picture found on the chinese Xitek (P.S.: He forgot to send me the link…you may send it to me?). My sources told me that this is a 100% correct picture of the upcoming new Sony A99 Full Frame SLT camera. The camera will be announced next week on Wednesday September 12th. As I told you before Sony wanted to realize the best hybrid video and still Full Frame camera on market by beating the current Canon 5DmarkIII. What is coming along the A99 is not only a camera but also a whole system of innovative accessories around it. It also marks the possible end of the classic DSLR Full Frame line with optical viewfinders. The [shoplink 3028 ebay]A850 (Click here)[/shoplink] and the A900 (Click here) were the last two models with viewfinder.

(SR5) HOT surprise! Super secret mirrorless camera to be announced on September 12th!

UDPATE: This turned out ot be a half correct rumor. The camera will be anmed RX1. it is a FF mirrorless camera but it has a fixed lens :(

This is a super hot “little” rumor I got. A surprising new and “professional Mirrorless camera” is going to be announced on Wednesday. I have been told that this is (and now was…LOL) a super well kept secret. I am working on it right now to get some details. I repeat the sources underlined that this is a “Game Changer” camera!!!! If I would be you…and you have the money to spend on a PRO NEX…I would consider to sell your [shoplink 8454 ebay]Sony NEX-7 on eBay[/shoplink] :)
UPDATE: Also Steve Huff “broke” the info although he didn’t write that this is actually a new PRO NEX cameras.

I will work this weekend to get some details but it will be a tuff battle to find out more. Will do my best…you really have to stay tuned on SAR. Things are going fast now. (SR5) A99 with clean HDmi out!

Sony A77 Clean HDMI Output Test from Dave Dugdale on Vimeo.

Short update about the A99. Unlike the current [shoplink 8461]Sony A77[/shoplink] (See video on top) the A99 will have a “clean” Hdmi output. You will be able to on/off the menu info on the HDmi video. It’s a little but very important feature for filmmakers. What I don’t know yet is the compression format of the HDmi streaming.

Stay tuned! And keep in mind that Sony will announce all that super nice stuff next week on Wednesday (European time).

Zeiss will do more fast prime lenses for the NEX system?

There is an interesting although a bit “vague” news posted by Zeiss today (Click here): “Another highlight will be the presentation of a design study, with which Carl Zeiss will offer a sneak preview of a new family of autofocus lenses for mirrorless system cameras (CSC) that will most likely be available in mid-2013. Due to their performance and high speed, these new lenses will be ideal for deliberate photo composition, making them perfect for more sophisticated photographers as well. Carl Zeiss plans to initially offer fixed focal lengths in the wide angle and standard range as well as a macro.

They do not specify for which system! It’s my guess that these new Zeiss lenses will work like that two 19mm and 30mm Sigma lenses. They will have a “universal” design and a change in the mount only in order to fit on all different mirrorless system cameras. If it’s trues than this is good news! We need more high quality lenses like the Zeiss 24mm that is right now finally available in US (Click here at Amazon).

You have any lens on your wishlist that Zeiss should absolutely make?

Next image leak. Here is the NEX-VG30!

An anonymous source just sent us the links to those pictures form the upcoming NEX-VG30 (Thanks!). The camera looks pretty much close to the current [shoplink 13770 ebay]NEX-VG20[/shoplink]. The specs:  16MP Exmor APS-C sensor, BIONZ processor, 1080×1920 video recording at 24p/60p, 3″ LCD, XGA OLED EVF, available in November from $1,800.

P.S.: May the source can send us some A99 and NEX lens images too? :)

Sony-Fuji alliance on the viewfinder front (a 1:5000 contrast ratio for the OLED viewfinder)

As you know both the A99 and the NEX-6 will feature a new OLED 2,36k dot viewfinder. Photorumors (found via Fujirumors) reports that Fuji is going to announce a new X-E1 camera tomorrow that will feature exactly the same A99 and NEX-6 viewfinder! The viewfinder has an amazing 1:5000 contrast ratio. Sony is not only sharing their sensor technology to Nikon (speak the D800 for example) to Pentax (upcoming K-3) but also the viewfinder technology. Another step into the complete Sony world domination? :)

Anyway, this means that we have to follow tomorrows Fuji announcement to get an idea of the quality of the viewfinder. The X-E1 will cost almost exactly like the NEX-6 (a bit less than $1000).

Meantime the NEX-7 body price at Amazon remains $1199 (Click here) but it’s is getting lower on eBay. $1099 at [shoplink 13758 ebay]Arphoto[/shoplink] or $1.119,71 at [shoplink 13757 ebay]Bigvalue[/shoplink]
