There is one more thing at Photokina: Tomorrow (Sept 27) Zeiss will announce a new Full Frame fixed lens camera with 35mm lens and a new Batis 40mm CF. I have been told the event starts at 18:30 Berlin time and we can expect press release to be official at 19:00 or max 19:30.

The Full Frame Zeiss camera will have a Sony sensor and Sony electronics. But the body design and lens design (35mm probably f/2.0) are from Zeiss.

And of course there will be the new Batis 40mm FE lens:

Distagon optical design
The shortest shooting distance is 0.24 m
With focus limiter (Full / ∞ ~ 0.4 m / 0.5 m to 0.24 m)
Filter diameter is 67 mm
size is φ 91 mm 93 mm. Close to the 85mm Batis
magnification is 1: 3.3
Price is 1299 dollars / 1299 euros
