Image on top shows the 16-35mm f/2.8 GM. Tamron will give us an alternative for that one :)
In two days (February 20) Tamron will announced their next new FE autofocus lens: The Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD for Sony FE. I have no images yet but this is for sure going to be an exiting and much cheaper alternative of the 16-35mm f/2.8 GM lens.
I have no info on the pricing yet but the lens will be quite a bit smaller and lighter than the Sony although the focal range is smaller too. Still this lens is meant to be used for travel and that’s why Tamron did prioritize the size and weight.
This will be Tamron’s second FE zoom after the 28-75mm FE. That lens is selling so well that Tamron did increase the price in January (get it at BHphoto, Amazon, BuyDig, FocusCamera and Adorama. In Europe at Amazon DE and WexUK).
More new FE lens announcements coming within days!!!
Don’t forget that we will also get new Sony (135mm f/1.8 GM) Tokina (100mm f/2.8 FE) within the next few days! Stay tuned on SAR! To be sure to not miss any of the upcoming news do this:
