Why Sony Sees Its Next Big Hit at 1,000 Photos a Second (Bloomberg). And Canon announces a 250MP sensor.

Bloomberg reports that Sony is focusing on sensors that take photos at least 10 times faster than the human eye can see. Sony is working with Nissan Motor Co. and a Tokyo University to create an affordable 1,000 fps sensor for the automotive market.

What is really cool to see is the superfast tracking system that keeps the object in focus and in the center of the image:

The video is made by the University of Tokyo with whom Sony iw working with. It would be amazing to have a focus tracking system like this on a camera for sports and wildlife photography!

And today Canon Japan also announced a new 250 Megpaixel APS-H sensor! Full press release at MirrorlessRumors.com. Now we know the A7rm3 will have at least 200MP..LOL ;)
