First 35mm f/1.8 lenses for sale in Asia (and Amazon US)

35mm lens auctions on eBay (screenshot via Slidoo).
The 35mm f/1.8 OSS E-mount lens could become a very popular lens for the NEX system. It’s fast, compact, has image stabilization and a very good optical quality (check out the review at ePhotozine). And finally the lens is shipping in Asia via a couple of eBay stores (Click here) and in US via third party resellers at Amazon (Click here). For the rest of the world click the links below to check the shipment estimation for your country:
Estimated shipping date at Amazon, Adorama, BHphoto, Wex UK, Sonystore DE-UK-FR-IT-ES-NL-SE-FI-CH, and more links at Alphacameradeals.
And me I am back on the rumor work. I have plenty of things I am working on. And certainly we can expect a lot of fire from the NEX front!

6 months ago |The best sources only told me that 2013 is definitely a “NEX” year with plenty of lenses and cameras.
Jiri
6 months ago |Nice to hear that. Could you be please more specific?

6 months ago |A-mount will focus on APS-C. I have been told there will be more E-mount than A-mount lenses this year. I don’t have the full roamdap yet…just some indications. The A-mount lens roadmap for the next 3-4 months is fix and I shared it on SAR. Still working on the E-mount roadmap. Not sure yet about NEX cameras.

6 months ago |It’s weird that only dedicated FF mount will focus on APS-C only.
Carl
6 months ago |I guess a single FF body and a new 50mm is already too generous. We should take our Version II lenses and be grateful.

6 months ago |I think top priority for Sony should be tighter quality control on their lenses, rather than new models.
Carl

6 months ago |Is Amazon already shipping it, too? Their page looks like this.

6 months ago |Yeah, ordered mine yesterday for 344€ at cyberport.de, today they are not selling it anymore… Looking forward to play with it, but I don’t have a delivery date

6 months ago |Admin, there are only 3 (from memory) lenses left on the existing roadmap to be released, the mid tele prime (85mm), the high quality G standard zoom (f2.8?) and a pancake. Are your sources saying there will be more than this? Can you give any indication of whether we are talking more primes or zooms? Anything f1.4 (or faster) coming?

6 months ago |100% sure. More than this!

6 months ago |I got it a couple of weeks ago and it was a nice tiny lens.
I think it is optically good and maybe a bit sharper than the 50f1.8OSS.
I also got the 10-18/4 and this one is a really nice lens, maybe the best E mount lens to date.

Hi Sony, it is December not April 1st.

6 months ago |Looks like a nice lens. If you need to save yourself a few hundred dollars – get the Sig version, even at f2.8 and without OSS, there’s not much of a difference for maybe 95% of users.

6 months ago |Picked up one locally yesterday, 419 USD. Feels pretty nice, nicer than the Sigma. We’ll see how the photos come out though.
