Sony A77 in Stock in USA, Europe and Asia. NEX-7 in Europe.
Trusted sources told me that Sony is in full A77 and NEX-7 production status and is holding back the production of the other cameras (like the NEX-5n).

2 years ago |Don’t think that will happen. Not only is that contradictory to the NEX philosophy, but I don’t think the cams have the contacts available in the battery compartment. To my knowledge, there is no access port anywhere for firing the camera with any type of secondary release button.

2 years ago |Same as before on the sony website u can click on buy now but u cant take the item to check out. I did find a retailer in my country (netherlands) today who guaranteed my a nex 7 body from the end fo the week trhough Germany. I wonder if he`ll keep his word.

2 years ago |I preordered the Nex-7 kit lens back in The end of Oct. through Sony USA store. They just send me an email saying the kit will be shipped on Feb 17th. I’m crossing my fingers that they will in fact ship the kit on that day!!

Price about 1’300 CHF or about 1’076 Euro or 1’400 USD.
The NEX-5n is less than half that price.
If fact you can get the NEX-5n + 24mm f/1.8 Zeiss for about the same money.
People I know who has the NEX-7 loves the camera, but admit for the money NEX-5n is better value for money, and I would agree.

NEX-5n costs 555:- CHF
= 828:- CHF
NEX-7 = 1’348 CHF
I am sure there are many good reason for buying NEX-7. Value for money is not one of them.

Now the fuji x-pro kit for $2400 – that’s pushing it.

2 years ago |I ordered the NEX 7 body on 22th Jan via Redcoon, the website said it would be shipped within one week. A few days later, the item was not shown on their website anymore, so I thought I was lucky. Last week I got a notification that the delivery was delayed, next shipping date 22th Feb. Yesterday I got a notification that the delivery was delayed again, next shipping date 2th March.

2 years ago |Delightful. I also ordered from Redcoon, back in Nov, 28th to be exact. I have prodded them every 2 weeks or so. They just told me the 29th feb for the 18-55 kit. Hard to take them seriously at this point.

2 years ago |Just to follow up…. Redcoon delivered me the camera today (feb 20th). To my great disappointment, they messed up, it is only the Nex-7 body they’ve shipped, not the package w.the 18-55 kit lens. Delightful. I get to send it back and wait some more. Redcoon dropping the ball here….

2 years ago |If sony.de is the same as sony.co.uk then you are buying from a franchise when you order online, not Sony. It’s why the price can change depending what you select as your local store.
There are no “Sony” stores in the UK, they are operated by several franchises using the Sony brand. They are just like any other store, so probably don’t get priority over any other store for delivery of new stock.

2 years ago |Sony CH still states that the Nex 7 is currently unavailable. But fotopro.ch has them in stock. (I got mine last week from their shop in Zurich railway station).
For those (like me) switching systems and thus needing one or more lenses to go with the NEX 7 body it’s currently probably better to purchase a heavily discounted NEX 3 or NEX 5 kit and sell the body than to just buy a lens. I got myself a NEX 5 with the 18-200mm lens for just CHF 100 more than the lens alone would have cost at that retailer. (Some online shops do however sell the lens for about 15% less.)

NEX 7 kit ordered 9/12/11. Maybe this one for real (after the November email that said I would have my camera in a week)? Or am I kidding myself, and it will be April.
