3 years ago |@Daemonius, the sensor of this smaller Sony CineAlta camcorder/film camera is a Super 35mm and highly probably a RGB stripe CCD sensor (like the Sony F35 CineAlta film camera) without any Bayer pattern filter.
For more information look at these links:

-Sony F35 CineAlta camera:

Super 35mm:

The “normal” 35mm Full-frame sensor size is about 36x24mm, which Full-frame cameras like Sony Alpha 900, Nikon D3(s, x), Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III, Canon EOS 5D Mark II D-SLR and the Leica M9 rangefinder eg. use.

3 years ago |Okay in one thing i am wrong, this new Sony CineAlta Camcorder uses a EXMOR-CMOS sensor, so dude this stuff could be bring up in a bigger Full frame 35mm Sony Alpha D-SLR camera! Very nice fact! I hope Sony can rule all the other D-SLR cameras with Full HD video recording!
Really interesting choice from Sony to bring a CineAlta camcorder which can beat the also cheap competition of RED film cameras/camcorders! So Sony won’t let the market be alone with RED.
So it’s not a answer to the Panasonic mFT camcorder, but a great fully answer to the big competetion of the newcomer RED!

Leon
3 years ago |Well, it looks like 2 camera’s, the big gun and a small one on the right side. And by size, it are two different cam’s.

3 years ago |Wtf is up with this site posting so much shit!?
Its s35 mm cinema size not full frame.
And the vg10 is a consumer crap model. If it has a succesor it wont compete with th af100 it will be a completely different model like a z1u whic is pro.

3 years ago |Full frame probably means full frame 35mm film, i.e. APS-C sized. And this is probably the EX35 which is an APS-C behind a PL mount for £10-12k. And it won’t be doing RAW no camera in this range would do this and sony are very unlikely to kill their top line. Give me decent 1080p off a decent sensor with decent compression and decent price and there will be a lot of very happy professionals around..

3 years ago |12bit 30fps video stream from full frame sensor?! Oh hell… if they’ll make it, and than put to the DSLR… 30 FPS continuous shooting in RAW mode without time limitation… O_O wow! Even if it’d be only in full HD resolution, it’s still stunning feature.
I wonder though if this camera would have E-bayonet with some adapter in setup to use PL mount lenses… very doubtfully, but who knows?
