Net SE (Meyer-Optik) files for insolvency in Germany

The German website Photoscala reports that “Net SE”, the company behind Meyer-Optik, Goerz and Oprema Jena filed for insolvency in Germany. And the reason for this is a tragic event. CEO Stefan Immes had a near-fatal car-incident. It’s unclear yet if the company will be saved or not.

Meyer Optik successfully funded E-mount lenses through Kickstarter. But we don’t know yet if those projects will be continued or not. There are also currently 13 E-mount lenses listed at BHphoto. They might be out of Stock soon.

Very sad news. I hope Stefan Immes will be able to recover from his injuries.
