I got rumors from solid sources telling me that Sony is going to focus on lens announcements during the first half of 2022 (24-70mm GMII and 85mm f/1.2 GM) and camera announcements during second half of the year (A7RV, A9III and more). This strategy has been forced by the fact that the chip shortage is going to endure during 2022 with things expected to improve only by very late 2022.

This doesn’t mean we will not get any new camera in early 2022 (there will be at leas one new model!), but most new cameras will be announced in autumn 2022.

Let’s post this wild rumor about the possible A6600 successor:

I still believe a sort of A7000 would make sense too (A7 body with APS-C sensor). But it really looks like Sony is very stubborn :)

The Chinese company Rockstar (their lenses here on eBay) is designing a new 85mm f/1.8 FE pancake lens. Yes…Full Frame coverage in such a tiny lens!

I have to say I never got any rumors about a new A3. The A5 might make sense as a super cheap entry level FF camera. But I am 100% sure the A9III and A7rV are coming in 2022. Will post the first rumors about these cameras soon..

About those rumors: I have no idea who sent them and 90% of the times they turn out to be wrong. But, it happened in the past that a couple of those were right. So I will post them today, and we all together can eventually keep track of this. If one of the sources turns out to be right than we will know we can trust it a bit more!

No 4K@60, just 30.

ILME-FX9 has ILME-FX6 style body, with same 61M CMOS as α7RV. Provide oversampling 8K/30p (FF Only), oversampling 4K/60p (FF & S35).

100mm f1.4 GM priced at 1599$,  and weight 950g, it will be the most light lens like this. (macro feature will be avable too)
