PetaPixel confirms demand for the Sony RX1rIII is high in all regions

Right now twelve Sony RX1r III cameras are in Stock at Amazon US (Click here).

A couple of days ago Sony Japan said that Japanese shipments of the Sony RX1rIII will experience some delays because of higher than expected demand. PetaPixel dogged into this and learned that it is not only Japan that is experiencing a high volume of demand:

All of this is to say that the concern over asking price from voices online isn’t necessarily in line with those who are actually buying cameras. Pre-orders for the Sony RX1R III opened earlier this week, and retailers in North America expect to ship the camera starting July 31.

PetaPixel also writes that the RX1rIII price makes the A7cR even more interesting than before:

The RX1R III’s long-awaited arrival has breathed new life into the a7CR, not just as a point of comparison but as a viable choice for photographers who want a powerful high-res camera that can just as easily be a reasonably lightweight travel camera as the backbone of a full-fledged photography kit.

If you’re excited about the photographic promise of the RX1R III but its budget-busting $5,100 price tag has you feeling down, Sony solved these woes two years ago; it’s just that hardly anyone noticed.

Sony RX1rIII preorders at BHphoto, Amazon, Adorama, Fotokoch, Fotoerhardt, Calumet, WexUK.
