One of the first images of the new lens mounted on the Sony A7III (via Digitalcamera.jp)
I received the first test report of the Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 FE lens. I was told we shall get some more “official” news about this lens soon. In the meantime I can share this:
- Lens MTF at f/2.8 shows that at least at 70mm and 180mm the lens is sharper than the Sony GM 70-200
- VXD motor is incredibly fast and is able to focus across its focusing range almost instantly
The lens tested was close to final production version. If confirmed this is indeed great news. Now let’s hope Tamron will share full pricing and shipment start info next week…
