The Sony A7V rumors are raising eyebrows — could it really ship without Open Gate, with a crop in 4K60p, and no pre-capture?
I am yet not 100% sure about this part of the Sony A7V rumor yet…but it looks like the chance is there that the Sony A7V will:
- NOT have Open Gate
- NOT have Pre Capture
- still have the crop in 4k60p
BIG UPDATE: One of the listed “misses” is definitely WRONG according to a 100% trusted source. And he told me Sony A7V has some new awesome tech. Stay tuned fo my next post!
Sony A7V rumored specs :
- 33MP sensor (unclear if same of the A7IV or tweaked or new partially stacked)
- improved fps rate (15fps?)
- 8 stops IBIS
- new AI chip like the Sony A1II
- Free-Angle Tilting 3.2″ Touchscreen LCD
- 2x dual Type A SD slot
- no C5 button
- UNCONFIRMED: No Open Gate, No Pre Capture and 4k60p crop still here.
- improved EVF (5.6m dot?)
- Same Sony A7rV body design.
- price close to $3000
- Announcement in early December
- Limited batch ships before Christmas

- 100-400mm G (variable aperture)
- ultra wide angle f/2.0 GM zoom
