The speed monster: Sony A7V has Pre Capture and 30fps in 14bit RAW
Reminder:
Black Friday deals are now live worldwide at Amazon US, BHphoto Holiday page , Amazon Canada. IN EU at Amazon Germany, Amazon UK, Amazon France, Amazon Italy, Amazon Spain, Amazon Netherlands, and other Amazon EU countries. And also at Amazon Australia.
The Rumor:
Today I can share some additional details about the Sony A7V:
- It has Pre Capture just like the Sony A1II
- 30fps electronic shutter records 14 bit RAW. But the buffer ain’t as long as on the Sony A1II
- AF is calculated 60 times per second, and my sources say it performs superbly.
- It does NOT have Open Gate
Basically the $3000 Sony A7V is going to be a little speed monster capable of great sports and wildlife photography. The Canon R6III can do 40fps but in 12 bit only.
It’s a pity Sony remains so stubborn about not adding Open Gate. Since this is purely a software limitation, there’s still hope they may reconsider and enable Open Gate in a future firmware update.
What do you think about these new specs?
