Again Sony A7xx to be shown at NAB. New entry level cameras without video to come after NAB
We have a small rumor update for you. We had the chance to talk again with our sources and to verify our old rumors. The new Sony A2xx and A3xx will come few weeks after NAB (the NAB takes place on 10 April) and not have video recording. At NAB you will see the A7xx but the camera will not be ready for market release:(
As we already told you there will be a major Sony announcement in May. Sony will launch the two new entry-level cameras, the firmare update and the new mirrorless cameras.

2 new entry level cameras, firmware update (for what camera?), new mirrorless cameras announcements in May
I understand:
A) 2 new entry level cameras are mirrorless; 2 cameras at all will be announced at Apr/Mai
or
B) 2 new entry level cameras are not mirrorless, have no video and are named A2xx/A3xx and are announced together with new mirrorless cameras; 2+2(+x?)=4(+x?) new cameras will be announced at Apr/Mai
What did you want to say in the article?

2 years ago |Now: This will be weird. Do the current Alpha X30 cameras sell so well that Sony is risking the introduction of new cameras without the video? ODD…. not saying about the fact that they’ll be presented on the video-related show.
(All I hope though is the introduction of some cheap lenses/lens along with these… 70-200 f/4 SAM anyone?)

2 years ago |It is usual marketing strategy to launch new cameras within a particular period of time, regardless of how much better the new models are, in order to maintain a certain percentage of market share. I do believe that the cameras with video capability are not yet ready even for pre-production, with some technical diffculties still needed to be resolved.

Do they really sell well?
No offense but what do you base the statement on, a link would be nice ;o)
Many people dislike the small grips.
Esp. when using a SLR before.
Some people coming from P&S are holding the camera a different way and seem to work out with the new series.
But still I would doubt that they sell as well as the class 200/300/350 did (and do on some markets)…

2 years ago |no – it was a question, not statement. I doubt that AX30 sell good enough – that was what I talked about.
The a 200/300/350 sold well because at a time they offered more for the same money than the competition – now it’s other way around. Competition has better cameras for the same cost. (or similar)

2 years ago |BS they sell good, because many people want Sony. I’ve used Nikon D200 and Sony A200, Nikon D60, and also the A330, and the grip is actually quite addicting, it works superb in LV tilt shooting, but then again these old-school fools will never understand a great feature like LV til screen!

2 years ago |I just hope Sony releases a new high end Full Frame Camera. Don’t get me wrong, the A900 is great, just that live view, HD video and extra Megapixels wouldn’t hurt.

2 years ago |If Sony does display/show its A7XX model at NAB, I think they will provide more technical information on it. I’m sure this new sony camera will deliver like its predecessor the A700 did when it came out. I also am really hoping Sony releases new lenses at NAB. More Carl Zeiss ones would be great. With regard to the entry level DSLRs, I have a strong feeling that they will integrate video into them.

2 years ago |To show an entry-level camera concept with HD video is to condemn any otherwise similar entry-level camera you release before it. It would be a silly move on Sony’s part, but I’d be eager to see what features the new entry-level cameras offer to justify this move.

2 years ago |darn! I was prepared to get one of the entry-level alphas in time for the summer vacation, if video was available. It doesn’t even have to be very good video, just video capabilities. At this rate, I’d have to wait at least another year before re-looking at alpha again.
