Auto 110 lens test on NEX.
DC.view (Click here) tested many Pentax 110 lenses on the NEX. I am a ig fan of Pentax and I think some of these lenses could be very interesting to use on my and your NEX camera. These lenses are relatively cheap and sometimes offer a very decent quality. My preferred lens is the 18mm f/2.8 which is really tiny! Watch the image smaples on DC.view to make your own opinion about the lenses.

Cool. I have the Zeiss Contax 45mm in mind
PS: Images SMAPLES…

2 years ago |Too much vignetting, so I don’t see any real advantage against the Sony SEL16F28, except the small size of the 70mm lens.

2 years ago |There is heavy vignetting and the lenses are far from perfect, but they have a certain charm about the images, almost remind me of holga style. I think I have a few of the pentax 110 lenses around, this will be a nice little package for quirky street shooting, I can’t believe I didn’t think of this earlier

2 years ago |The 110 format is about the same size as m4/3, so some vignetting is inevitable if they’re used on APS format cameras. Still, awesomely small lenses.

2 years ago |Forget about these lenses, although the idea is charming. You can only use them full open, and that’s (besides the heavy vignetting) a serious limitation, isn’t it? If you MUST use old stuff, look for half frame lenses (PenF!) and/or APS-lenses (IX-Nikkor). DIYers, check old compacts: the Minox 35 (Color Minotar 2.8/35) is REALLY spectacular!

I did my own Minox lens for Nex, using a Leica body cap and shaving off some plastic from the aperture ring. It works great, and this way I can use it on anything that can take M mount.
It is a bit not contrasty though, because of the single coating.

2 years ago |The novelty is definitely there, how ridiculous is that 24mm mounted on the E mount?
REVENGEANCE
2 years ago |The compact size (even smaller than the 18mm) makes the NEX weigh almost that of the body alone which is perfect for the coat pocket, it’s also given me interesting reactions from those who see it.
The vignetting on the 24mm isn’t almost negligible, I’m currently using one on my NEX-3, however, anything wider such as the 18mm or the wide end of the 20-40mm zoom vignettes terribly. The character of the 24mm on the NEX is quite lovely especially in the city the effective 36mm focal length is neat too, however the bokeh leaves much to be desired when shooting subjects that have a large distance from the background plane and there’s the notable loss of aperture control, but for 8 bucks on ebay (given the 40 bucks for the adapter) it’s a good deal!

Pentax focus direction is opposite of Sony/Minolta.

2 years ago |I use an NEX-C3 with a Minolta Md adapter. Along with the 16mm prime that I got with the camera, I bought it with the intent on using my SLR lens. So far I have been fairly impressed. Since they are analog, the aperture is controlled from the lens so stopping up or down is no problem. I have a 45mm pan-cake, 50mm and a 135mm. The 135mm gives me problems at 3.5 F do to the adapter ring and the way the lens was made, but I am usually shooting outdoors so I can stop down. The adapter costs about 15$ on ebay and its worth it. Plus the Minolta glass is way sharper then the Sony. Doesn’t damage the camera or senor and it pops on and off like nothing, and since its the same 1/6 crop from a DSLR I can throw on a 45mm on NEX and keep my 10-22mm on my T2I to cover live events.
