Please run it on the 32-bit kernel.”
Have to switch to 32-bit to get this update installed. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3773)
As usual complicated and mac-unfriendly solution!

6 months ago |boo its just peaking for the VG cameras, compability for the new Alpha adapter and AF settings for the new adapter, weaksauce… i knew Sony was gonna stop updating like every other sony product i own.

6 months ago |I have now installed it on my NEX-5. I’m surprised to see the new focus adjustment setting ‘active’ in the menu system even without the LA-EA2 mounted: usually features are disabled in the NEX menu if they cannot be used… I now need to look for a manual to figure out how this feature is used…

I’ve already got an LA-EA1, but I’d love a 2 as well to be honest – looks like a great idea!

6 months ago |Yes, very disappointing. Why did they let the LA-EA2 customers wait so long for this upgrade making everybody expecting, they wanted to include Lens Compensation for those lenses released around Christmas? Any silent improvements like 5 custom selections for soft keys instead of 3?

5 months ago |…at least my NEX-5 running Firmware 05 shows a new “AF Adjustment Setting” section under “Setup” with three new entries:
AF Micro Adj. – allows simply the choice between On and Off, while it’s description says: “Allows you to make fine adjustments to the position of the focus.”
amount – “Registers adjustment value in AF Micro Adjustment. This function is currently disabled.”
Clear – “Clears all registered adjustment values” after an alert: “Total registered Lenses: 0 – Clear all adj amount?”
Not very impressive. “Lens Comp.: Shading”, “Chro. Aber.” & “Distortion” would have rocked, Sony…

5 months ago |just hold numbers 2 and 3 while booting on the mac. you will boot in a 32-bit mode. no problem to update the nex to version 0.5. then hold 6 and 4 when restarting to go back to the 64-bit mode
