New 4K Sony F camera coming on October 30th.

Last week Sony announced a new product release event on October 30th. Sony unveiled on Facebook that the cameras will be anew 4K and 50Mbps 422 High Frame Rate F camera. Easy to guess that this will replace the discontinued F3 PL mount camera.
What I don’t know yet if if there will be an update for the E-Mount NEX-FS700 camera.

The most 4K television will use something some called QuadHD which describes it best: 4 times the FullHD resolution. 4K normally means 4000 or in the tech world often 4096. I’d prefer if they used 4K if it is 4096×2160 and QuadHD/UHD for 3840×2160 to differentiate. This pro camera will definitely be 4K as in 4096×2160 which is the cinema standard 4K.

8 months ago |UHD is both 4K and 8K (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_High_Definition_Television). But for my sense 4K is missused if the horizontal resolution is belok 4K=4000. I’d prefer if they would only use 4K for 4K as in 4096×2160.

I Love 4K!

On the Retina Macbook for example you can see a difference – but you have to look very close. And there are some studies discovering that with normal viewing distance 4K isn’t needed so much. More important is better codecs, cause better image quality really helps. And if you handle RAW video even with 2.5K for example you learn how hard it is to work with good quality media in terms of storage.

That’s very bad logic. The difference will not be the same as in your example.
“And ask Yourself if 1920×1080 is enough to be used in cinema theater ON BIG SCREEN”
In the entire film history, I think only one Hollywood movie was released in 4K. Even movies that were shot with 4K cameras (like Prometheus shot with Red) were edited and released as 2K
8K is at least 10 (most likely 20) years away. It will take a long time for even 4K to be become widespread.
