New Toy Lens and new Tilt Shift Lens from Samyang.
A photoshoped Samyang Tilt Shift lens. But the real lens will arrive soon
On March 13th Sony will have a big announcement but in the meantime also third party companies are active on the lens front. Megapiksel (via PR) posted that image of the upcoming new 24mm f/3.5 Tilt-Shift lens fro Samyang. It will be available for Alpha mount.
And SLR magic just released the new 28mm Bokehmorphic Toy Lens for the NEX system. You can buy it for $125.00 on eBay (Click here to check it out).

2 years ago |wow. I hope the performance of this samyang is good enough for me to consider over the only other option… the schneider.
Vivek
2 years ago |There is a variety of T/S (ex Soviet) lenses available for the NEX mount, FWIW.
Solo
2 years ago |I shoot alpha
Vivek
2 years ago |I think they are available for that mount also.
One other option is the Mirex T/S adapter to use Mamiya or Hassy lenses on Alpha mount.
Joe
2 years ago |Well, I don’t think you can find any rectilinear medium format lens around 24mm, especially at reasonable price.

2 years ago |I don;t know if 35mm is too long for you but there is this

The picture is a fake.

2 years ago |Admin please correct: this is photoshoped version from a Samyang 14mm and a Nikon 24mm PC-E as stated by the picture’s author, see Jesse Kraal’s comment on

2 years ago |Considering it is SamYang, it will most likely be more affordable than the Schneider.
This would be awesome for product and architecture photographers.
I’m guessing manual focus, which is fine, especially with focus peaking to help. All that is left to wonder about is image quality and price.
Been shooting often with the 8mm/3.5 fisheye and it just rocks.
Wonder if others, will come out with T/S for alpha as well.
Vivek
2 years ago |What is more useful is a real T/S adapter for the NEX using available DSLR lenses like Nikon, etc.

2 years ago |This is great news! Tilt/Shift lenses are sorely needed in the alpha mount. I actually already own the current Schneider 28/2.8 Super Angulon (great lens), but I am still very intrigued by the release of this Samyang. It would be wonderful if Samyang developed an entire line (18, 24, 45, 90).
Anyways, can’t wait to see a picture of the actual lens. I hope it allows the use of filters (the Schneider lens is great for filter use).

2 years ago |Admin,
Do you have to keep teasing us with this big announcemnet on the 13th during these unrelated posts. Its like Oh! heres a couple new lenses from theses guys for the alpha plus remember Sony has a big announcement on the 13th. I can’t take it any more. I am dying with anticipation. Do you know what it is and will we find out about it before the 13th?

2 years ago |A57 is coming! I alreayd told you. And more stuff that I still need to check…
poke
2 years ago |Yeah but that would not be a surprise if we already know it. The surprise has to be something else. I feel like it’s Christmas morning.

2 years ago |Do we have any rumors as to the price on that Samyang T/S? This is one area where the Samyang reputation for top-notch glass and very good construction, both at “extreme value” pricing, could lead to a VERY welcome addition to the A-mount…

Carl
2 years ago |Hopefully less than $1k.
Solo
2 years ago |I’m guessing around $600
Carl
2 years ago |The 24/1.4 costs about that. Given the costs involved in a perceptual control mechanism, I’d assume it’d be a fair bit more than that, though I’m happy to be wrong. The A mount needs a T/S lens that’s actually affordable.
Matt
2 years ago |Being that this is a 24mm f3.5 I’m guessing it isn’t just the 24mm 1.4 with T/S, so could very well be around $600?
Harvey
2 years ago |@ Admin: My Nex is an Alpha too, at least it says at shutting off. I think you should say Alpha-A and Alpha-E to distinguish between the two.

The bodies also say so.
AA and AE?
BMan
2 years ago |Alpha mount is only one mount.
It is NOT the E-mount obviously, so where is the problem?
Hellven
2 years ago |alpha mount dont exist, the name is A-mount, it was the name minolta gave when they left the manual focus SR mount (many times called MD or MC wich is not correct) with tha launch of the first AF SLR.
Sony call’s ALPHA to all their models with interchangeable lens, SLR Alpha, SLT Alpha and Nex Alpha, and A-mount and E-mount are the names of their current cameras mounts

2 years ago |Minolta always called it Alpha in Japan, too. The reference to Alpha-mount was common in Japan in the 80s & 90s.
Carl
2 years ago |Maybe we should call it D mount, for Dynax.
Solo
2 years ago |ditto… A stands for alpha.
Hellven
2 years ago |in europe was dynax, in US was maxxum, but that wasnt the name of the mount, that was the name puted in some camera models (ex: Dynax 7, maxxum 9xi…), but some A-mount cameras dont have does names (like the RD-175).
the A in A-mount is not for alpha, its for Auto-focus, it was the fist auto-focus mount for Minolta.
Carl
2 years ago |The RD-175 was sold with Alpha/Dynax/Maxxum branding.
With the RD-3000 they shifted to Dimage branding for their digitals, until the α-7D, at which point they reverted.

2 years ago |What is the meaning of “A” in A-mount then????
Bruce Bachand
2 years ago |I just wanted to put a plug in for Samyang/Rokinon.
My 85mm f1.4 Rokinon is almost always on the A55 because it is so super sharp… and because it has a superb focus ring. Build quality is equally stunning.
These lens are a ridiculously low cost/high performance choice for photographers. In Canada I bought mine from http://www.amazon.ca
