Sony NEX-5n review at Photographyblog.

Photographyblog (Click here) posted a new full Sony NEX-5n review: “It may not be the smallest (at least with a lens attached) or sexiest compact system camera on the market, but a winning combination of excellent image quality even in low-light, a refined and customisable interface, and fast and responsive operation does make the Sony NEX-5N one of our current favourites. Highly Recommended!”
While I fully agree with Photographyblog when they say that the camera has an excellent image quality I do not agree with the lack of sexiness! I use the NEX-5n with the also highly recommended Voigtlaender Nokton 35mm f/1.4 lens (Click here to see them on eBay). It’s a terrific sexy combination! I am currently to busy to post a review now but as soon as I am back from my NYC work trip I will shows you a first preview of my NEX-5n+Nokton kit. Maybe we should do a sexiness contest to see which lens looks better on the NEX
Do you have some ideas?
P.S.: You need an M-mount to NEX adapter (Click here to see the list on eBay) to use the Voigtlaender Nokton 35mm lens!
The Sony NEX-5n is in Stock at Amazon, Adorama, B&H, J&R, eBay. And there is also that nice (a bit expensive) NEX-5n viewfinder Amazon, Adorama, B&H, J&R, eBay.

BTW any news about Firmware 05 for these “vintage” cameras?

7 months ago |The Nokton may look sexy, but it also has tons of purple fringing, distortion, and never sharpens up suitably in the corners.

7 months ago |I’m using the Heliar 15mm with the Nex-5 and the purple fringing and vignetting clear up nicely with Cornerfix.

7 months ago |I use the 5N with the Voigtlander 35mm F1.2 lens and the combination is fantastic.
Here’s a discussion of this combo on DP Review. I shot all of these at F1.2 and ISO 6400

7 months ago |any news about the cameras and the fix of the “click”?
Bob
7 months ago |I said it many times and I’ll say it again: there is no issue if you record video as it should be recorded (smooth action). If you use it as ‘Shake weight’ of course it will capture the ‘click’. I recorded more than 17 hours of video and ‘click’ is nonexistent. Best, Bob

You have to SWING the camera about to get the click…if you shoot video correctly click free.
Ive been shooting for over a month with my 5n and no clicks.
My gh2 clicks if you swing it about.
Enough about the click issue!

From the other posts it seems there are “loud” and “silent” copies of NEXes being sold. Obviously I got a loud one
No matter how slowly I move the camera, eventually the loose element inside will come to rest in a new position and thereby produce a click. Imagine putting an apple in a big pot and moving the pot around. There are motions (especially tilting motions) you simply cannot make without the apple rolling around and bumping into the wall of the pot.

7 months ago |Try putting the external VF and a Nikon 28mm AIS with a hood, I think it’s one of the sexiest cameras you could find.
The external VF really makes the difference. It looks like a mini Hasselblad
