Sony refurbished camera and lenses.
UPDATE: Although the eBay Feedback history of the reseller is very positive a reader warned me to buy from that store and linked me to those customers reviews. Hmmm….
- A refurbished Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 lens (Click here to see the item) which you can get for 849.00 Pounds (969 Euros). That’s almost 300 Euro less than the cheapest price for a new lens I found in Germany and UK!
- And they are also selling ten silver NEX-3 bodys (Click here to see them on eBay) for 189 Pounds (215 Euros). That’s 25 Euro less than a new NEX-3.
From Wikipedia: “Refurbished products could possibly be the products which are returned by the customer within the return policy of the company which sold the product, without any defect with the product. Refurbished products are generally bench tested and certified by the authorized service centers of the company and then re-packaged, labeled as a Refurbished Product.”

2 years ago |Sorry but you can get a new Zeiss 85 for £870 Far too expensive for refurbished gear, that place!

where you have seen the 85mm for 870,00?

2 years ago |We bought an A33 from this place in Cardiff last week – no problems what so ever. Good customer service, quick delivery and the camera works faultlessly, and looks new too.

2 years ago |p.s. 12 months warranty too.
MrWoody
2 years ago |Not meaning to suggest any problems, but a 12 month warranty can still be a pain if it’s with a retailer who sound like they get aggressively evasive in the event you have a complaint. You could try taking it up with the manufacturer instead, but typically the first 12 months are the retailer’s responsibility.
If it’s refurbished gear too, the waters could be muddied further, as it’s not entirely clear what their warranty obligations are. New products are a safe bet, because as much as stores will pedal it as an “added extra!”, the first 12 months warranty is generally a minimum legal requirement on all new goods in the UK.
Refurb stuff isn’t so clear, it may be that warranties are simply “good will” on behalf of the seller, and may not be backed up by any truly legally binding documentation.
Like I say, not to suggest it’s always a bad idea, but when a store appears to have as bad a reputation as this one, I’d steer well clear for products this expensive.

2 years ago |Yeah, I understand what you’re saying & fully agree in honesty. But we (wasn’t actually mine, it was my girlfriends) tested it over thoroughly and we’re happy there is nothing wrong with it, so I (optimist) don’t see anything going wrong with it.
She can be a bit of a dropper though, so I’m pretty sure the failing of the camera will be down to her, whenever that happens
MrWoody
2 years ago |Well yup, provided you take your time and are careful to weigh things up, then it’s all just calculated risk. These days I try to avoid any situation that could risk excessive chasing-up-and-threats-of-small-claims should problems arise, simply because I know I tend to fall into the very trap they bank on, that I’m too busy to waste hours on phones, and end up not getting around to it. So my risk-calculation is somewhat more conservative than it used to be
Haha, I’m a bit of a dropper too. I’d had my NEX 5 a grand total of 1 month before I managed to miss my coat pocket and release it four feet above a concrete pavement. Thankfully, it landed square on the focus ring of my cheap MD lens, chipped a neat little chunk off it, and still worked perfectly. Them old lenses are certainly built to take a beating!
Beer and camera equipment do not mix!
…did I mention I was drunk at the time?

2 years ago |Maybe it’s changed but i’m amazed they’re still in business, especially when camerland is in the next arcade along, can only assume that they get business from people going into the wrong shop by mistake lol

2 years ago |I bought from them. No problems what so ever…Delivery took less than a day, international, i received the Sony FX1000 just as described, it was a great deal!!
I saw their current listing and the prices are a bit high, but that’s the problem in Europe, and the prices incresed a little bit elsewhere too due to Japan’s problems.
My experience with them is positive. The 85 Zeiss they have is expensive. It’s a great lens, but at this price it isn’t worth the trouble..look for a new one elsewhere or make them an offer, who knows!?!?

2 years ago |Not all refurbishers are bad, must less the stuff they sell.
People should only go into business with them knowing the risks involved. The first step is always the hardest. If the refurbishing company is good, then I don’t see why to continue walking.

2 years ago |I got a NEX-3 refurb pack from them earlier this year. Price was good, the box shipped the same day and everything was in order. The box had Sony seals and factory checklists inside. All in all, a positive experience. Can’t say anything about the face-to-face service, since I’ve never been to Cardiff.
