3 years ago |thats great to hear. Cant wait to see the specs of the camera.
I’m wondering if it will look completely different to the mock ups that were shown at PMA. I guess we just have to wait and see.

3 years ago |Lack of a built in Flash really rained on my parade. I think a built in flash is a MUST if this camera is really going to be a “Go Anywhere” camera.

3 years ago |Do you know anything about the lens mount, for example the flange distance, and the possibility of mounting 3rd party lenses? Any indication that it would be possible to mount an m-mount range finder lens, like what you can with the olympus/panasonic micro 4/3 cameras, many thanks, Sam
Ryan
3 years ago |@Sam, I read somewhere it will have an OEM adapter to allow A-mount lenses, if it allows shooting with “no lens” the you could potentially adapt it to all of the old manual focus mounts (M42, Pentax K, Minolta MD, etc).
There are similar adapters for 4/3 and micro4/3, but with the 2x crop factor.

3 years ago |I will say one thing I think Sony is going to do which is very smart and that is bundling it with a reasonably fast wide angle pancake prime. I really think that is a stroke of genius. Hopefully they’ve taken notice of the success of the Panasonic 20mm and realize that small primes are where it’s at for these tiny cameras. And if Sony can introduce this camera with a high quality prime, for less than the EPL-1, well that’s very impressive.

There’s no evidence that there’s no built-in flash. That was just conjecture.

3 years ago |I’m curious if the released camera will look like the mockup. Actually I don’t want it look like this, cause – sorry – they’re miles away from a good design. Lack of in body IS would also be a no go for me.

F/2.8 is not that impressive. Give me a f/1.7 pancake… until then I hold my breath. *blues*

3 years ago |doesn’t the larger sensor compensate for the slower lens, making it match GF1 with a f/1.7 lens?

Smaller sensor = more depth of field & more noise from light on sensor.
So NEX will be in advantage if we’ll compare equal lenses in f-stop.
