The A77 is more and more difficult to find in Stock and the price is rising. But I just found four manufacturer refurbished A77 bodies in Stock for 150£ (120Euro) less than the original price! Last week Sony announced that the A77/65 and NEX-7/5n production has been restarted. We are still not 100% sure when the cameras will be in Stock but we noticed some small good news:

1) First, The A65 that was supposed to be back in Stock in USA on December 31 now will be in Stock on December 1 at Amazon US (Click here).
2) The A77 preorder option is back at Sony Canada (Click here). And the A77 is back in Stock Amazon Japan (Click here).
3) Amazon UK (Click here) changed the NEX-7 delivery message. It now says “Usually dispatched within 1 to 3 months.” (before it was 4 months).
4) Sonystore US (Click here) now says the A77 and the NEX-7 is “coming soon“.
5) and than we have the very first Instant Rebate on the A65 camera it’s good news because you don’t do rebates on a camera if it’s not available. Here are the deals:

Yesterday I told you that A77 stocks were almost finished. But I didn’t think it would be sold out that soon! I check all major US online stores and the only A77 I found in Stock is the super A77 kit at Amazon (Click here). To bad it’s out of Stock. The camera reached the 8th position at Amazon ranking (Click here). I would have been curious to see if it would have gone close to the top Nikon and Canon camera volume sales! P.S.: The NEX-5n is the most sold camera in the mirrorless setion (Click here).

And what’s really interesting is that interview with the Sony A77 and A65 designers at Sony.net (Click here). For the A77 and A65 the designers used a styling technique called “Tensile Skin.” I really didn’t understand well what that kind of design is and the explanation made by a Sony designer sounds a bit funny: “What helped me explore this idea was an ordinary sock. As soon as I stretched the sock over our structural mock-up, it transformed the jumble of blocks into a coherent, sculptural unit. It looked fresh, and the jutting edges resonated nicely with the gentle contours. Although this unified whole could be called “monoform,” it was hardly monotonous, and there was a pleasant sense of tension. I knew that following this approach would lead us to the new shape for Alpha SLRs.”
