Zeiss 24mm for NEX in Stock! Buy the lens and NEX-7 separately to get them first.

To date some NEX-7 bodies has been shipped but it will take much longer if you are waiting to get the kit option (camera+lens). I have been told all kit options (with Zeiss or with the black 18-55mm lens) will be available much later. If you preordered the NEX-7 plus Zeiss 24mm lens kit I suggest you to buy the single camera and lens separately like I did!

The NEX-7 is finally shipping to Europen stores too. Francois for example sent me this: “I had a phone call from Paris Sony Store yesterday. They have a few units of Nex7 (body only) available from the first production batch as they told me. I’m going to pickup one today. They agree to make a deal for an additional 18-55 lense for the price of the kit. Just to be precise, I had no preorder.“. I also got a similar news about Sony Germany store. Echenique.com also got his NEX-7 :)

Sony A77 and Zeiss 24mm to be back in Stock on December 27.

It looks liek the first stocks of A77 cameras produced in new (or adapted) Sony fatcories are reaching the worldwide stores. Sonystore USA (Click here) reports that the A77 body will ship by late December. And the Sony A77 is in Stock at Amazon Germany (Click here), Amazon Japan (Click here) and within 2-4 weeks shipment at Sonystore UK (Click here) and Digitalrev (two weeks).

Sony USA accepting NEX-7 orders! Review conclusions from LL.

You can now buy your NEX-7 body only at SonyStore USA (Click here). UPDATE. No more preorders yet! It will be shipped to you in mid-late January. I have been told that also other Sonystores in Europe will soon ship their first NEX-7 cameras and accept new preorders. And curiously, this will only happen with the body only version. 50mm f/1.8 for NEX release delayed til mid February! (But available in Asia)


The european and american release of the new 50mm f/1.8 lens for NEX has been delayed til mid February. Many Sonystores (like Germany) are now reporting the new availability date. But the lens is already in Stock in asian stores like Amazon in Japan.

BHphoto still says the lens will be available in December but Sonystore USA sent the following note to current 50mm preorders: “We would like to inform you we are experiencing a delay with your Sony order. The following item SEL50F18 has been rescheduled to ship on 03/02/2012.“
