On October 22, Yongnuo will officially launch its new 18mm f/2.8 FE autofocus lens. The price is set at 799 Yuan — roughly $110, making it one of the most affordable ultra-wide AF lenses for Sony full frame cameras!
We already have a global shortage of Sony A1II cameras, so it’s a real shame that Kolarivison ruined a Sony A1II to see what’s inside! Joking :)
Kolarivison said this at the end of their dismantling adventure:
The camera was largely easy to take a part, according to our lead camera technician. It was largely similar to its predecessor (which we’ve previously taken a part in our other teardown). Subtle changes in the A1 II include extra screws and relocation of some components to accommodate the camera body redesigns.

On October 20 Viltrox will launch the new 85mm F/2.0 AF Sony FE. But the lens is already available for preorder in some German stores and here are the leaked images:
Matt argues Sony’s strategy is to create one advanced sensor and deploy it across 4–5 camera bodies—hybrid, cinema, and vlogging versions—before investing in the next-gen chip. This approach keeps sensor output high across divisions while spreading R&D costs.
Since the A7S III/FX3 sensor is now five years old, he believes Sony is finishing work on a completely new sensor platform meant to power multiple 2026–2027 releases:
A7S IV (hybrid)
FX3 II (cinema)
ZV-E1 II (vlogging)
Possibly an FX model with global shutter or 8K from the A1 sensor
Based on previous five-year product cycles (A7S II → A7S III), he expects FX3 II and A7S IV to appear between late 2026 and 2027, using Sony’s next-generation stacked sensor.
Sony is increasing its efforts to support blind photographers. Above, you can watch an inspiring interview with blind photographer Gary Williamson. Sony has also re-uploaded the promotional video for the Sony 16mm G lens — this time, redesigned to be fully accessible for visually impaired viewers:
