Just announced: The new Sony WH-1000XM6 headset….and I’m going to buy it
The new Sony WH-1000XM6 is now available for preorder at BHphoto and Amazon. In Europe at Amazon DE, Amazon UK, Amazon FR, Amazon IT, Amazon ES.
I own the WH-1000XM4, which I really love. I didn’t upgrade to the WH-1000XM5 because the compact folding mechanism went away. Now it’s back in its sixth generation and there are a lot of other good reasons to upgrade! Check out the reviews:
The latest Mapcamera ranking shows that Sony is losing ground

MapCamera published the full April sales ranking:
- Nikon Z5II
- Fujifilm X100VI
- Fujifilm GFX100RF
- Canon PowerShot V1
- Fujifilm X-M5
- Ricoh GR IIIx
- Canon EOS R6 Mark II
- Sony A7C II
- Ricoh GR III
- Nikon Z50II
For years it was normal for 3-4 Sony cameras to be at the top. Now we only have the Sony A7cII in eighth place. This is a trend I have been observing for some time. In fact, Sony has only announced the popular but expensive Sony A1II in the last 10 months. We would need new cameras like the Sony A7V, Sony RX1rIV, Sony A6900 to see more Sony cameras at the top of this chart.
Sony will announce a niche camera for the film sector on 28 May. But that probably won’t make it a big seller. Fortunately, Sony has also registered a new camera in China, which means that at least one more camera will arrive before September. Hopefully it will be the Sony A7V…
Just announced: New Kase 85mm f/1.4 FE lens

KaSe just announced the new 85mm f/1.4 full-frame autofocus lens. It has a 10-group 13-element structure, 13 aperture blades, a lightweight design, a metal lens body, and weighs only about 580g (62g less than the Sony 85mm f/1.4 GMII). The minimum focusing distance is 0.7 meters. It has two custom buttons. FN1 can be set as a function key. FN2 short press returns to the minimum focusing distance of 0.7 meters, and long press returns to the set focusing distance. The magnetic lens cover adopts KaSe’s innovative design, which can be used with KaSe magnetic filters.
Pricing and availability still not known. But this really looks like a nice compact portrait lens.
