Two official Sony news: Hack warning and new action camera

actioncam
Sony Japan announced a new action camera.

And more importantly Sony Japan also released an official statement to warn about using the Sony hack as this is not officially supported by Sony. They don’t mention the exact hack name. But I guess they mean the hack software news we posted in April (read here) and the new STGuploader. If something goes wrong because of those kind of hacks Sony will not cover it with their warranty!

Thanks Al

Shafiur: I thought you might be interested to know that in a recent sensitive project in northern Kenya for a Danish media organisation, I, as the photojournalist and documentary maker, was instructed to bring only “tourist type and small” cameras. This was arising out of concerns of being stopped at the airport and because the pastoralist peoples we were going to be speaking to were not comfortable with cameras at all. And so, believe it or not, my main stills camera was the Sony RX100 iv. The 40 page report has just come out slating the development project’s legality and impact on the local people. I thought your readers might want to see a few photos taken with this amazing pocket camera. http://srdocs.net/portfolio/lake-turkana-wind-power

Flo:Godox released their Sony version of the V860 I saw on your blog.
Actually I have been shooting with the version I since a while now and wrote up a little summary of my experience.

No in depth-review with technical stuff – just feedback on the flash/brand during real-life situation on the job. The brand was at least in my network completely unheard off and most people don’t trust it. If the V860II is as good as the 860c, Sony shooters shouldn’t hesitate!
