3Dkraft (Click here) tested the new HyperPrime CINE 35mm T0.95 prototype lens on the NEX-7 and on the first Full Frame VG900. This Cine lens for E-mount should arrive in 2013. The tester published some image samples an the results are promising. It’s interesting to see that lens on the VG900. Of course there is a lot of vignetting to see. I hope Sony and other third party lens manufacturer are thinking on making native FF E-mount lenses!

May not everybody knows it but the new Sony 24 Megapixel Full Frame sensor is used not only by Sony (A99, RX1 and VG900) but also by the Nikon D600 (in stock today). And DxOmark (Click here) already posted the results of the D600 sensor test. The results are impressive. Compared with the Canon 5DmarkIII the Sony sensor has an image dynamic that is nearly 2.5-stops better! And a 2/3-stop advantage in color quality too!
This means that 1) Canon should be worried 2) We can expect similar extraordinary results on the A99, RX1 and VG900. Particularly the superb RX1 (specs and price here) may surpass the Nikon D600 score due the excellent Zeiss lens. I hope it can dethrone the D600 as leader of the Amazon ranks (here to see).
I have to catch up with some news I didn’t post in these busy Photokina days.
1) I got a news from a long time SonyAlphaRumors reader. He is selling his complete collection of Maxxum 900, 9xi an 9 cameras in excellent conditions on [shoplink 14320 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink]. it’s worth to check it out for the tons of nice pictures you can see! 2) Four new VG900 videos: one, two, three and four. 3) Sony’s NEX-5R WiFi: Hands On With the Viewfinder Feature at Pcworld. 4) At a live event at CamerDiner Paul Genge said the Sony A99 can do uncompressed 4:4:4 Hdmi out signal. It really would surprise me if tat would be the Chroma sampling quality! Hope some of you guys can give me some more info about that. 5) Many testing videos on Mobile01. 6) RX1 at Quesabesde. 7) New Lensmate Sony RX100 Quick Change filter adapter. 8) Sony 18-135mm SAM f/3.5-5.6 Review at Photographic Central. 9) A Sony image stabilization test at Heise.
Editor’s note: In these busy weeks I got many mails and news from you and most of them never got an answer. The next days I will take the necessary time to answer you all! Thanks for your patience :)
Sony Japan posted the first three full size image samples taken wiht the new Sony RX1. Click on the images to open them in a new tab! All taken at ISO 100. Preorders of the camera are up at Amazon, Adorama, BHphoto, Wex UK ,Wex Germany and more links at Alphacameradeals.
Meantime the Amazon ranking (Click here) are lead by the Nikon D600. May be a sign for Sony to work on a cheap FF entry level camera.

The incredibly busy Sony week is now about to end and here on top of this post you can watch that nice new A99 video posted by Sony. Below you can fin another video about the NEX-6 in Alaska. Such videos are worth more than thousand of words. Enjoy!
Dpreview published the full Sony A57 review. Just in time enough to push the Nikon D600 news down from the top… :) DP writes: “The A57 combines a high quality 16MP sensor, easy access to shooting parameters and class-leading video performance. And does this while providing an equivalent shooting experience whether composing images via the EVF or rear LCD“. The Sony A57 is one of the very few cameras earning the Gold Award!
Blogosphere Loves Sony :)
Yesterday we had a busy day watching all previews and image samples. Today let’s give some space to a positive and romantic energy: Luca Rossini wrote a nice blog entry (Click here) about how Sony discovered his work and proposed him to go to Alaska to test the NEX-6. It’s a nice story that may inspire some of our readers! Thanks to Luca and to Sony for proving that there is still some romanticism on the web :)
And…sometimes it is really better to learn about a camera in that way instead of reading reviews and high ISO comparisons!
Also Carl Garrard (Click here) is finally back in love with Sony: “Hell I even ordered the NEX6 because it answered ALL of my criticisms of the NEX mount (that camera nd the new lenses). I’d be a hypocrite had I made the criticisms I’ve been making then, after Sony addressed them not give them a chance by trying the bodies out at least.”
Now some of you are going to hate me because I am linking to…”his majesty” Ken Rockwell wrote something positive about Sony: “This is a camera worth watching. I don’t know if Sony has finally pulled it off, or if it has enough little glitches as in the A55 to make it still second-fiddle to Nikon and Canon’s true DSLRs. I really love electronic finders if they’re done right; they let me see playback and menus without having to take the camera away from my eye.”
And so the well known photographer Matthew Jordan Smith will do his first fahsion shooting with the A99.
NEX-6:
Talking about the NEX-6…it likely the best camera in terms of price-features balance. Many found the price of the RX1 too high considering that it is a fixed lens camera (price check at Amazon, Adorama, BHphoto, Wex UK ,Wex Germany). And some people here would have loved it to see a lower price for the A99 after seeing the price of the new D600 (Click here). But I haven’t heard any single complaint about the NEX-6 price! The general perception is that $999 for a camera like that with superb electronic viewfinder and nice compact 16-50mm pancake zoom is absolutely fair…I go even further and say it’s a bargain :) Even the $120 discounted ([shoplink 14142 ebay]here on eBay[/shoplink]) “older” NEX-7 looks too expensive now! Fact is, the NEX-6 is the the most popular new Sony camera according toAmazon ranking (Click here). So check out the preorder NEX-6 links at Amazon, Adorama, BHphoto, Wex UK, Wex Germany Sonystore DE–UK–FR–IT–ES–NL–SE–FI–CH and more links at Alphacameradeals if you are considering to grab the new NEX!
VG900:
Camera is listed at BHphoto and Amazon but still no preorder option.
