Auto 110 lens test on NEX.

DC.view (Click here) tested many Pentax 110 lenses on the NEX. I am a ig fan of Pentax and I think some of these lenses could be very interesting to use on my and your NEX camera. These lenses are relatively cheap and sometimes offer a very decent quality. My preferred lens is the 18mm f/2.8 which is really tiny! Watch the image smaples on DC.view to make your own opinion about the lenses.

NEX-7: “the new benchmark to beat” and “best mirrorless camera today”

[shoplink 8454][/shoplink]

I feel so good after yesterdays news that Sony restarted the [shoplink 8454]NEX-7[/shoplink] production. I know my expectations are high but I have some hope that I will might get my NEX-7 camera before Christmas. And after reading the next bunch of reviews I am posting here you might understand why I am eagerly awaiting that camera.

Here is the first Spanish NEX-7 hands-on at Quesabesde (Click here): “As we continue delving into the innards of this camera with a magnifying glass and reviewing performance, it is clear that we are facing one of the most notable models of the season.” and “The Sony NEX-7 is undoubtedly the new benchmark to beat“.

And DCresource (Click here) posted a full ENX-7 review: “Overall, the Sony Alpha NEX-7 is a pricey, yet excellent mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. Whether we’re talking performance, photo quality, or features, the NEX-7 does just about everything right. The one thing that may bother some folks is the user interface, so you’ll definitely want to try the camera out in person if you can. Even with the complex interface, the NEX-7 is still a camera that I can highly recommend.

And Amateur Photographer latest magazine contains a full NEX-7 review: “They call it the best ILC camera available today

More bits:
Imaging Resources posted new NEX-7 image samples taken in New York City and Disneyland.

Sony SLT-A65 review at Dpreview

[shoplink 8459][/shoplink]

Dpreview (Click here) posted the full A65 review. It gets an overall score of 78% while the A77 had an overall score of 81%. In short DPreview says that: “Overall then the Sony SLT-A65 is an exceptionally well specified camera not only considering its class, but the consumer-level DSLR field as a whole.

Reminder: The full A77 review is here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonyslta77/

The real advantage of the A65 over the A77 is that the A65 can be found in Stock almost everywhere. Check at [shopcountry 8459].

Sony NEX-7 review at Techradar and Whatdigitalcamera

Techradar (Click here) just posted a new review. Of course do they like the camera but I want to higlight one of the very few negative points about the camera: “A lightweight CSC with a 24.3Mp sensor may be ideally suited to landscape photographers, but the lack of a suitable wide-angle optic may be just as off-putting as the camera is tempting. This is a real shame, because the lightweight design of the body and the excellent resolving power of the sensor should make this an ideal application for this camera.” Oh yes, the camera has no real faults, we need the right lenses now Sony. That’s it.

There is one more NEX-7 review written by WhatDigitalCamera (Click here): “With high expectations the NEX-7 succeeds on many levels, but with the CSC market highly competitive this high-priced model does also finds its limitations where focusing and design are concerned. Saying that, the NEX-7 is an impressive mix of features, high-resolution image quality and excellent 1080p movie mode. For some it’ll be the perfect camera, though with an ‘indefinite delay’ due to production problems you may want to get those pre-orders in to be among the first to own one…“.

Pancakes ideas for your NEX: Minolta Rokkor 40mm f/2.0

[shoplink 10058 ebay][/shoplink]

The NEX-7 is far still far away from being shipped but I am happy to own my tiny sexy black Sony NEX-5n. I am currently using one lens only, my [shoplink 8725 ebay]Nokton 35mm f/1.4[/shoplink]. But I am ready to test more M-mount lenses. The Nokton is a soft creamy lens, not exactly sharp that’s why I am looking for something as small as the Nokton but much more sharper. And the solution could be the [shoplink 10058 ebay]Minolta Rokkor 40mm f/2.0 lens[/shoplink]. It looks gorgeous on a NEX camera (Click here to see it at golftoimpress.com). Really small and high quality lens!

I found many image samples on Flickr. Images look very sharp and with nice tonality and contrast. I didn’t find any professional review of the NEX and Rokkor combo. If you find something drop me a message or comment this post thanks!

The Minolta Rokkor 40mm f/2.0 pancake can be found for $500 used on [shoplink 10058 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].

P.S.: Don’t forget: You need the Leica M to NEX mount adapter ([shoplink 8850 ebay]Click here to find them on eBay[/shoplink]).

Sony NEX-5n reviews roundup.

Ryan Brenizier (Click here / via noisycamera) posted a new NEX-5n review: “If “workhorse dSLRs” have reached maturity, mirrorless cameras are still in their awkward teens: They have so much potential, but each one brings their own quirks. The 5n is no exception — at different times it left me jumping around excitedly and scratching my head in frustration.”

Also ePhotozine (Click here) posted a new NEX-5n review: “This could be the best NEX and whilst a subtle update, it gives quicker performance in use (including an impressive 10fps shooting), better battery life, higher resolution, touch screen aids control and there are new lenses available, which will be especially good news to anyone who has already bought into the NEX system“.

New NEX 50mm f/1.8 lens tests

From all new NEX lenses this is probably the lens that has the highest probability to become a hotseller. The new [shoplink 8448]Sony 50mm f/1.8[/shoplink]! According to Sonystore (Click here) the lens will be available in mid December. The lens is relatively cheap but the specs are tempting and image quality now proves to be very good. Just look at the latest review posted by ThePictureDesk (Click here): “I shot a fair number of images with the Sony Zeiss 24mm on the NEX7 but it was a bit wide. Once I switched to the Sony E-mount 50mm f1.8 I realized what a great little lens this is. All the press and buzz has been around the Zeiss 24mm. There have been a couple discussions about the 55-210 and a few about the new 50mm. I think the 50mm is one lens most NEX photographers would appreciate.“. You can also see some image samples posted at DC.watch (Click here).

This is definitely a lens to go! Preorders are available at [shoplink 8448] (Click on shop name to check price and availability). To bad it’s not available in black color too. Would look amazing on my current [shoplink 8452]Sony NEX-5n[/shoplink] and future [shoplink 8454]Sony NEX-7[/shoplink]!
