(SR5) UPDATED: Tamron 28-75mm FE price is $799

As reported by Nokishita the price of the new Tamron 28-75mm FE lens will be 94,500 YEN. UPDATE: We just got the info the lens will be priced at $799 in the USA (listed here at BH).

UPDATE: Our reader Anders spotted the pricing in Sweden at Cyberphoto. He writes:

“It’s slightly difficult comparing to USD or similar with our taxes but prices usually can be multiplied by 10 from USD so it should in theory cost around 869USD/869EUR.”

There is a new “handmade” Sony E-mount camera and it’s not from Sony!

Tomorrow (on Monday) I will post the details about a new Sony E-mount camera. All I can say is that it’s not from Sony and it’s handmade by one single person :)

Start your guesses folks what this will be about!

Sony will have a small press conference during the World Photography Awards

I just got this from a source:

Sony will have a small press conference during the World Photography Awards. It is not of large scale, so the most optimistic expectation would be a lens announcement, definitely not a new body of any kind.

In the past Sony has announced some stuff at the World Photography Awards but I guess this time we probably will not get any product announcement.

At this point I think that if we are going to see something new this might be the new 24mm f/1.4 FE GM lens. And if there is nothing I bet we are going to get something new in May already anyway.

(SR5) First image of the new Laowa 10-18mm FE zoom lens!

A source just sent us this image of the new Laowa FE zoom. And he said:

The new lens is an FE10-18 zoom (99% confirmed). The aperture seems to be F3.5-F4.5 but this part I’m not sure.

The lens should be announced in 2-3 weeks. This is a manual focus lens only but the specs are quite amazing: Compared with my Sony 12-24mm FE (see image below) this new Laowa is more compact, lighter (I guess) and takes filters too. And I don’t mind the shorter tele end because the extra 2mm on the wide end are way more interesting for my kind of shooting.

And our reader Jmar made a another accurate size comparison based on the Laowa teaser image we posted earlier today:
