Sony working on new “high saturation sensor technology”?

I got the following unusual rumor from a new source:

Sony is working on a number of high saturation sensor technology solutions (large full well capacity) that could benefit all platforms from mobile phones to cameras.
Large FWC may no longer be a problem, but it may come at the cost of speed.
It is inevitable that CMOS image sensors will have to move towards high speed.

I have no clue what this is all about, but maybe some of my trusted sources reading this can tell me more about it?

WILD RUMOR: RX10V to be released in late 2022?

I got the following rumor from a new source. I really don’t know if 1) this is a correct info and 2) if it actually makes sense for Sony to launch a new superzoom fixed lens camera…is there really a market for this?

Anyway, this is the info I got:

I have it on good authority that Sony is planning for an RX10 V to be released in late 2022 OR EARLIER depending on supply chain constraints.

The major differentiator will be the first time AI / computational technology will make it into a Sony camera.  There are also design and ergonomic improvements, removal of the flash, and the incorporation of the a6600 battery.  The lens will be the same as it’s predecessor.   This camera will feature blackout free EVF bursts up to 24FPS.

Wild rumors roundup: A7rV, FX1 and fancy 85-135mm f/2.0

About those rumors: I have no idea who sent them and 90% of the times they turn out to be wrong. But, it happened in the past that a couple of those were right. So I will post them today, and we all together can eventually keep track of this. If one of the sources turns out to be right than we will know we can trust it a bit more!

No folks, the new ZV APS-C camera is NOT a high end camera!

I know other websites are spreading fake rumors about the new ZV camera to be a high end model with incredible performance. I am sorry to disappoint you folks. My job is to not spread clickbait rumor but rumors from solid sources. And they tell me that it doesn’t look like this is going to be a high end model. Don’t get me wrong, it will be a very capable camera but still an entry-mid level APS-C model for vloggers. If you are dreaming about a mini-A1 please read the fake news spread on other websites because I as SAR will tell you this isn’t a mini A1 :(

Here are my thoughts:

Yep, just like we told you there will be a new ZV APS-C camera but…

Because I see others reposting our older ZV camera rumors. Yes, I can confirm once more what I wrote months ago. A new ZV APS-C camera is coming and it will not replacement of the current ZV-10. And obviously it will have a stacked sensor and focus on video because that’s the also the main goal of the ZV line: be a Blogger tool. And the newly announced APS-C lenses once more show that Sony seems to focus the APS-C product strategy on Youtubers and Video creators.

The new ZV camera was scheduled for a late Spring announcement but the launch got delayed due the semiconductor shortage. At this point it might be announced in late August…but that’s just speculation for now.

These are the rumored four new Tamron FE lenses..among them this stunning 150-400mm f/2.8-5.6 zoom???

  • Tamron 90mm f/1.8 Di III USD
  • Tamron 150-400mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III VC VXD

I don’t know if the source is reliable. But here are my thoughts on the new lenses:

X-H2s announcement: Fuji wants to prove you that $2,500 High End APS-C cameras do make sense!

Full spec comparison on this special page at BHphoto

We always saw Sony somewhat reluctant to launch a very high end APS-C cameras. But now that they announced three new cool APS-C lenses I really do hope the time is mature for a new “mini-A1”. A proper high end APS-C cameras that is still affordable compared to Full Frame equivalents.

And if you believe there is no market for that you are likely wrong: This week Fuji announced the new X-H2s with a nice $2,499 price tag. And from what I heard this camera is selling like hotcakes! So dear Sony please, give us the A7000!

Would you buy the 8k, 33Mp A7000 for $2,499?
