One reliable source now told me that Sony will have a product announcement on April 27 at 16:00 Berlin time. I am pretty sure we will get the new Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens!

Rumored lens specs:

• it’s extremely sharp
• designed like the current 70-200 GM II
• it’s the lightest 24-70mm f/2.8 on the market
• it’s also smaller than the previous version

We will not only get a new Sigma 50mm f/1.2 and f/2.0 lens. But also this nice zoom:

• 16-28mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary
  ・ Lens configuration: 16 elements in 11 groups
  ・ Shortest shooting distance: 25cm
  ・ Maximum shooting magnification: 1: 5.6
  ・ Number of aperture blades: 9 (circular aperture)
  ・ Filter diameter: 72mm
  ・ Size : Φ77.2 x 100.6mm (E mount version is 102.6mm)
  ・ Weight: 450g
  ・ Mount: L mount ・ Sony E mount

Sony will have a press event on April 24 at 9am PDT time. I am not sure if they will announce the new 24-70mm GM II on that day. But here are the rumored lens characteristics:

• it’s extremely sharp
• designed like the current 70-200 GM II
• it’s the lightest 24-70mm f/2.8 on the market
• it’s also smaller than the previous version

A reliable source told us that Sigma is going to launch two new FE primes sometimes in Q2 (April-June). The lenses will be:

• 50mm f1.2 DG DN Art (Almost same size as 35mm f1.2 DG DN Art)
• 50mm f2 DG DN Contemporary I series (Almost same size as 35mm f2 DG DN Art)

I don’t have info about the price yet but I guess the Sigma f/1.2 lens will be $500 less expensive than the Sony 50mm GM lens.
