CameraBeta leaked the image of this new Yongnuo 20mm f/1.8 FE lens. You cans ee the aperture ring and AF switch. Price and release date are yet unknown.

Viltrox is teasing the launch of the X-mount 13mm f/1.4 APS-C lens on January 3rd. The lens is already listed at Viltrox store. A couple of months ago they also displayed the E-mount version of this lens. I don’t know yet if the E-mount version will be announced on the same day or sometimes later.

Following the three existing DG DN primes Sigma will very soon launch their new 20mm f/2.0 DG DN E-mount lens. Here are the specs:

• 13 lenses in 11 groups
• minimum shooting distance 22cm
• maximum shooting magnification 1: 6.7
• filter diameter 62mm
• size φ70 × 72.4mm
• weight 370g
• Suggested retail price the same as the 65mm F2

Then only thing I know for sure, is that Sony patented some medium format lenses. But all the rest is purely speculation and very wild rumors. One wild rumors I got is this one:

the medium format system Sony will release in 2 years has not curved sensor, its a new developed 200mp 54×36 sensor in a new mount, Sony will release an adapter to use E lenses (just they can say it had a lot of compatibility lenses cause the system will be released with only 3 primes) and will be a system without mechanical shutter with flash sync faster than anything in the market by far, its a system targeted for ultimate studio work

Now, this is not from one of my trusted source so there is a high chance it’s wrong. Still I post this because I would damn love it to be true!

Kenko will launch a new updated 400mm F8 IIS E lens that will replace the current 400mm model you can find at BHphoto. It’s unclear yet what kind of updates we can expect.

About those rumors: I have no idea who sent them and 90% of the times they turn out to be wrong. But, it happened in the past that a couple of those were right. So I will post them today, and we all together can eventually keep track of this. If one of the sources turns out to be right than we will know we can trust it a bit more!

Sony will release an ILME-FX1 full-frame handheld camcorder in 2022. This camcorder is smaller than the ILME-FX3, has no ND filter and IBIS, no grip on the right side, but has a pluggable LCD monitor and is powered by an external V-mount battery or DC power. It looks like a full-featured UMC-S3CA.
Interestingly, this camcorder was introduced in honor of their first 1080i HDV camcorder, the HDV-FX1. So the ILME-FX1 also does not support 4K, it only supports 1080p for TV stations with high speed FOV footage.
It uses the BIONZ XR processor and has many features of the ILME-FX3. The 5-megapixel effective sensor with phase autofocus is only one-fourth the resolution of the PXW-FX9. At 1080p resolution, it can achieve 120fps recording with full frame super sampling, 180fps S&Q recording with super sampling of about 1.3x crop factor, and 240fps S&Q recording in Super 35mm (pixel by pixel, about 1.6x crop factor).
Obviously, it is a specialised camera. It has excellent 1080p quality, balancing speed and image quality. It is likely to be a strong competitor to Canon’s ME20F-SH.
