Conflicting Sony A7V specs shared by two Sony Artisans :)
A well-known Sony Artisan from India recently shared some A7V specifications. It’s unclear whether these were based on speculation or genuine insider information, but the post has since been deleted. Here’s what he revealed:
- It’ll have around 40MP sensor
- Not a global shutter
- 15fps
- No pre-capture
But to add confusion another Sony Artisan (which I don’t name here) claimed this in an unofficial chat with other Sony shooters:
the a7V, 33mp stacked sensor and “much faster” although I don’t have a number
Really don’t know what to think about this…for now I stick to the specs I got from the leaker of the 100% legit Sony A7V images.
Sony A7V specs known so far (from trusted sources):
- A7V has been registered in Indonesia with the code “WW824259”. The camera is manufactured in Thailand
- Leaked image seems to suggest it has 33Mps sensor (we don’t know if it’s a tweaked A7IV sensor version or a new partially stacked)
- new AI chip like the Sony A1II
- Same Sony A7rV body design. This means same 4 way fully articulating screen and same controls
- It does NOT have the Sony A1II/A9III grip design
- price close to $3000
- Announcement likely in November at earliest with shipment start in January/February
