Jeff:I know it’s not the newest lens or best lens out there, but when combined with the new a7iii, and a nice gimbal, this lens makes for a super versatile filming setup for run and gun work. https://youtu.be/82-b_z8S4DY

Two new Zeiss Batis 40mm sample videos from Greg Watermann and Kim Bear

Share

Zeiss 40mm f/2.0 CF lens preorder at Adorama and BHphoto.

We have two new videos shot with the new Batis 40mm lens:

Kim Bear of Wild Child Photography does an excellent job with the new ZEISS Batis 40CF in capturing the sleeping newborn Amelia in this tender video. Using the short focal distance of as little as 9″, she is able to capture the fine details of this family and their new addition.

Greg Watermann shot this on an a9 with the new Batis 40CF at f/2 using Eye-AF, which works pretty well on a moving subject in changing sunlight.

An idea about a Sony battery grip with an integrated 1TB SSD and a USBc port…

Share

Christoph sent me this image and text:

I made a post today on Sony Alpha Camera (Facebook). It is about the idea of a vertical battery grip with an integrated 1TB SSD and a USBc port to record videos in better codecs like an external recorder (e.g. Atomos) and remove the 30 minutes recording limitation. There are many positive reactions to this. The photo shows the grip on an SSD. So the handle wouldn’t get much higher.

I think this is a smart idea. Wonder if someone will contact Christoph to jelp him produce and sell this gear.
