Stefan Malloch had a chance to play with the new Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8. We still have no details about the pricing and release date. But Tamron should hurry up because Sigma will announce their 70-200mm f/2.8 lens in early October!
On September 4th Sony registered a new camera model in China. This has 5.1G (MHz) compatibility which usually means this is a mid to high end level camera. The ZV-1II for example only had a 2.4G registration. If you wonder how long it takes until this camera will get announced just look at the recent history:
So as you see the chances are high the camera will be announced between end of November 2023 and early January 2024. This is EXACTLY the timeframe I told you MANY times for the A9III launch!
Reminder: Sony also has three “minor” camera registrations from June 12. One is surely for the just announced LR1…not sure if the other two are for Burano and something else…

Nikkei analyzed the 2022 global market share in the electronics industry. In the digital camera market Canon is well ahead of Sony which lost about 0,9% market share compared to the previous year. When it comes to image sensors Sony is on top with a big leap over Samsung.
Sony still leads in the Full Frame mirrorless segment but Canon is doing much better when it comes to fixed lens cameras and APS-C. Something we know Sony has neglected in the past years :( I wonder if the booming logging market will make it so that Sony will gain market share in 2023. Because this year they launched two new logging cameras, the ZV-E1 and ZV-1II which seem to sell quite well.
