The Verge: Sony’s A7R V camera is a technical triumph, so why is using it such a pain?

Share

TheVerge reviewed the new A7rV and wrote a clear conclusion:

The 61-megapixel full-frame sensor is brilliant, the autofocus tracking is impeccable, the articulating screen is the best around, and yet Sony cameras are still plagued by terrible ergonomics.

It’s time Sony completely rethinks the grips on all of its cameras. They need to be slightly taller, and they desperately need to be made of a higher quality, softer grip material.

We can’t forget that these devices must be designed for humans. Just like every camera has a diopter control to allow the viewfinder to be adjusted to our squishy, inefficient eyeballs, all cameras need a grip that’s going to be comfortable to hold and not feel like a torture device after extended use. Sony, if you can make a camera that can automatically distinguish between birds and bees, you should be more than capable of building one that doesn’t feel crappy to hold.

Any comments on that statement?

UPDATE: Leaked Tamron 20-50mm f/2.0 Full Frame E-mount Image is a Fake

Share

UPDATE: I got this image from an usually good source and I didn’t double check because I was on a hurry…which I shouldn’t do :)

I thank those of you that pointed out to me that this was a fake! What remains true is that Tamron has scheduled a press event on February 22. But I yet don’t know what will be announced!.

To trolls: I have a 90% reliable rumor track record the past 2 years, sorry if mistakes happens. But if you cannot handle those few mistakes like adults, please just leave this place and enjoy all other websites.
To troll websites: Trolling about my mistake, while constantly copying my rumors without linking back is a sad life for real. Is this what makes you happy in life? wow :)

RUMOR: Sony 800mm f/5.6 GM lens coming in 2024?

Share

As you know I don’t post all rumors I get. I try to sum up the less reliable in my “wild rumors” roundup post. I checked a rumor I got two months ago from a new source and I think that in this case the new source might actually be spot on! He told me this many weeks before the official Sony 300mm GM development announcement:

There might be 300mm f/2.8 GM and 800mm f/5.6 GM in 2023

As you obviously see he was right on the 300mm GM. So maybe Sony will announce a new 800mm f/5.6 lens sometimes in 2023 that will then be available in 2024?
