Our reader Cody tested the $9,000 Sony Airpeak. Watch how it worked out…

The Airpeak is in Stock at BHphoto

Cody went me the link to his video and the following text:

Highlights it is a serious contender to what has been the industry standard has been DJI

Two issues that need improvement.
-> First Stronger connection to prevent latency and improve the short range.
-> Second is battery life, 8 minutes is enough to get a couple shots but if it could get closer to 20minutes with payload it would be significantly more helpful.

The App layout is significantly better than other DJI competitors, appears to be laid out in a way that they maybe are working on another drone with a built in camera.

Image of the A1 ripped into two pieces…

Share

Alois Endl shared these images in our SonyAlphaCamera FB group. He writes:

This is what the component looks like when the sensor of an Alpha 1 is replaced, many thanks to my insurance company that paid for the damage. That costs almost as much as a new Alpha 7M4

Sony A1 at BHphoto. Adorama. Amazon. Focuscamera. FotoErhardt DE. Calumet DE. Fotokoch DE. Park UK. WexUK.

There is also a new article on “Why the Sony a1 is an Incredible Flagship” at Explora (Click here). In short:

You can see how Sony has positioned the Alpha lineup and how the a1 has earned its flagship title: the a7R IVA excels in resolution, the a7S III in low-light and video, the a9 II in speed and connectivity… but the a1 is the king of them all. It’s the camera you’d choose if you need the performance of the other three models in one body—the camera that can transition seamlessly from a video shoot one day to a sports event the next to a landscape or portrait shoot the following. Considering how being a working image-maker nowadays has shifted into being less specialized and more multimedia, it only makes sense that Sony’s flagship a1 does the same.

First leaked image of the new Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens!

Share

A SAR reader (Thanks!) just spotted this image of the new Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II. The lens will be announced on April 27 at 3pm London time.

The image shows the “GM 2” mark on the lens near the mount. You can also notice it’s quite a compact lens. I also have been told this:

  • it’s extremely sharp
  • designed like the current 70-200 GM II
  • it’s the lightest 24-70mm f/2.8 on the market
  • it’s also smaller than the previous version
