Sony Japan announced it will increase the prices of some cameras on April 1

Sony Japan issued the following press text (google translated):

From April 1, 2022, Sony Marketing Inc. will revise the manufacturer’s shipping price of some products sold in Japan.
We will revise the shipping price as follows in light of the fact that raw material costs, manufacturing and distribution costs, etc. are soaring due to the influence of the external environment such as the recent shortage of semiconductors.
At the same time, for products for which the manufacturer’s suggested retail price has been set, the suggested retail price will be revised.

Theses are the cameras Sony mentions:

  • α6400 body and various kits
  • α7C
  • ZV-E10 Body Kit
  • DSC-RX10M4
  • DSC-RX100M3
  • DSC-RX0M2
  • DSC-HX99
  • DSC-WX500
  • DSC-W830

It is yet unclear if sooner or later the price increase will affect other countries too.

RUMOR: Tomorrow Samyang will announce the new updated AF 35mm F1.4 FE II lens

Share

I got following message from a source:

Samyang is releasing an update to the AF 35mm F1.4 FE lens. It looks very similar to the old version but updated with the custom switch and focus hold button. There are probably some changes optically, as they say it is more sharp and better contrast wide open already, even in the corners. Autofocus is completely silent and very capable as an astrophotography lens too.
