“Chinese” A77 battery grip. Nex deal reminder.
A SAR reader sent me a link to these third party A77 battery grip for sale on eBay China (Click here). He asked me to ask you if you have any experience with it. Does it work as well as the original?

But i would not buy one that came with batteries. They look face and will turn out useless in the end. get one of the grips that have all the controls and buy the batteries form your local shop. I know more expensive, but having batteries that last more than 1/2 hour is a good thing.

8 months ago |I actually bought a cheap chinese grip for my a580 and it works great. No complaints. It isn’t as well built as the Sony grips for my a700 and a77, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one.
The batteries on the other hand are probably not great. I know they say 2000mah, but I doubt it. The other problem with the cheap batteries is they aren’t Infolithium, which means your camera won’t give you battery life percentage.
But, if the batteries come with the grip, then it never hurts to have a spare in your bag!

8 months ago |I wouldn’t get it… I have a Meike clone battery grip for my A350 and if you leave the batteries in there, even with the camera switched off, batteries are dry in 2 – 3 days

8 months ago |I use cheap batteries in my A700, 300 and my A100 and they have always worked almost as good as the original batteries, in fact one of them seems to out perform an older official battery I have.

8 months ago |I have a Chinese Meike grip for may A500. It’s great, not sony quality but works just fine. I buy 7.2v 1650mah batteries from a US ebay seller, something like 7-9 bux and work in the grip and camera just fine. Whether stated voltage/amps is real who knows but they’ve not given me a problem.

8 months ago |I have this Meike grip for my a77. It provides the power and the layout for vertical shooting. The only minus would be that it resets the camera at every use. I mean that when you shutdown the camera and start it you are asked to introduce the date, hour, so on.
