How to save 100 pounds on the RX100.
SAR reader Paul sent me this mail to explain how you can save 100 pounds on the RX100 purchase in UK:
1) Go Into Jessops (Click here) where they’re advertised for £529.00
2) Say you’ll pay the internet price of £475.00 which they’ll have to match.
3) Buy Camera
4) Claim Sony’s £50 cash back (See Sony UK).
5) Get your RX100 for £425.00, save £104.00
Thanks Paul!
UPDATE: Kevin noticed that the price at Amazon UK is already selling it for 439 pounds. Probably they already include the cash back?
ByThom likes the Sony RX100: “Compared to other pocket cameras, it’s no contest. Cameras like the Canon S100 or the Olympus XZ-1 can’t match the output of the RX-100, in my opinion.”
In Europe you can get many RX100 cameras for 500 Euro on eBay (via Slidoo / login to change country setting).
RX100 links roundup:
RX100 price search links: Amazon, B&H, Adorama, J&R, eBay.
Cases: Official Sony LCJ-RXA case, Gariz case, more leather case.
Batteries: NP-BX1 Battery.
Special stuff: Multi-Coated LENS ARMOR UV. Magfilter at Amazon (Click here). RX100 filter adapter on eBay (Click here)

7 months ago |Amazon (UK) sells the RX100 for £437 and you get the £50 cashback so that’s cheaper at £387 overall …am I missing something?

7 months ago |Amazons increased its price back to £448 from £437 (http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/Sony-Cybershot-DSC-RX100-Digital-Optical/product/B008CNMZDW for graph) You can claim the £50 cashback if you buy from Amazon direct so still overall cheaper at £398 if you can wait a day for delivery

7 months ago |I bought an RX100 from Jessops a few weeks ago when their web price was the same as Amazon’s after noticing the £50 cashback offer.
Jessops’ terms say the web price is *not* available if you just walk in to a store. They *don’t* have to honor it. But you can order on the web to pick-up in store, saving on the delivery charge. And pick-up is confirmed very quickly. I ordered mine and had a text 30 minutes later saying I could pick it up from my local store.

7 months ago |Yup, I was sat in a coffee shop around the corner from Jessops, sent my web order in, and went to check out the memory card prices at Currys (where I got a bargain twin-pack 16GB C10 SD cards for £20!).
Bargains to be had. The hardest cost to justify was the Lightroom 4 upgrade to support the RX100 RAW files.

Normal price for kack Class 10s.
£21 or so gets you a 32GB Sandisk Extreme 45MB/s card from Amazon.
James
7 months ago |Yup. So high street prices cheaper than Amazon. And no delivery cost or waiting. BARGAIN!

“This camera is lightweight and loaded with features. It’s a 20-megapixel point-and-shoot that weighs about 9 ounces. Consumer Reports said the camera has a large sensor and high-quality lens, it took exceptional photos in their initial tests and packs features normally found only on bulkier, pricier rivals.”

7 months ago |Hey Admin,

Any coming rebates for RX100 for USA?
I like the camera, but it’s a bit expensive to me at this price.
$100 would help a lot.
I know V1 is not a match (at least I think so), but its price dropped to $380 already.
