Editor’s note: We are three people working to fix the current issues on the comment system and contact form. It’s now 48 hours that we are searching for the erroneous code. Isn’t that kinda inevitable? In a couple of years you’ll just have a lens with buttons ontop. Technology is moving forward, physics is pretty much constant.

Well, the lens looks a little strange on a NEX-5, I’ve been quite positively surprised holding this combination in my hands, nevertheless combined with the Flash-adapter it becomes nearly ridiculous. But especially for video this lens is awesome, relatively light weight and small for its zoom range and extremely well built.

It’s the kit lens for the VG10 that just happens to share the same mount as the NEX.

I definitively don’t understand why they are people who critisize hardly the combination of the nex + 18-200. I have try it and if you take it with the lens in your hand, carrying both is really not a problem !
And by comparison with other 18-200 (sigma, canon …), this one is at a very good level for photos and is a wonder for video !!

Allan, you don’t need to take people’s negative opinion of the NEX platform personal.
If it fits your photographic needs then great buy it, and if others point out possible shortcomings in it that should be fine also.

Some people believe that a 8MP cellphone camera is all that the world should need and anything else is just too big and others believe that the NEX is the second coming. Me, the full DSLR fits into my hand all-day-long and the current NEX product is awkward, even for video.
It’s all good!
