Official: Sony new compact cameras and Bloggie Sport. Sigma announcement. Weird Fuji-Sony sensor rumor. A77 in Stock in UK.

It’s my obligation to inform you about new Sony camera stuff even if it’s not that really interesting ![]()
Sony announced the new Cyber-shot DSC-W630- W620- W610 – S5000 (Press release at Photographyblog). Probably cooler than any new compact camera is the just announced Sony Bloggie Sport (Press release at Photographyblog). It’s Water-, shock- and dustproof!
The two new Sigma NEX lenses are also official (Press release at ThePhoBlographer).
A few SAR reader sent me a link to Xitek images (Click here) that should “proof” that the new Fuji X PRO 1 camera is using a Sony fabricated sensor. To me this images do not prof anything and I highly doubt Sony is involved in that sensor technology.
P.S.: Our reader Leszek informed me that the A77 is in Stock in UK at Jacobs (Click here). It’s also in Stock at Amazon Japan (Click here).

2 years ago |Anything on the Lens roadmap for the NEX System in 2012, I’m really getting worried that even at CES2012 there is no official roadmap announcement and therefore we won’t see anything in our hands before second half 2012

2 years ago |What sensor tehnology? On Fuji site : “The new APS-C 16MP X-Trans CMOS sensor in the X-Pro1 has been developed to fully exploit the exceptional performance of the XF lens series and capture the ultimate image quality. Taking its inspiration from our experiences of traditional photographic film, FUJIFILM have adopted an innovative color filter array that eliminates the need for an optical low-pass filter. This revolutionary sensor achieves new heights in resolution quality and delivers brilliant optical performance from every lens.” . The new is only color filter array and name to sensor, but from picture from site xitek images seams that 16M Sony sensor from up picture is like bottom pictures from Fuji sensor.Sony buy Toshiba plant and past Fuji sensor is made by Toshiba.I think that sensor from Fuji x pro 1 is same sensor from NEX 5N.

2 years ago |yes, this is 16MPix sensor from Sony – silicon. Organics layer – RGB filters is done by Fuji. Nikon too uses its own organics layer.
Savic
2 years ago |Sony is 100% involved in production. Silicon is what I thought. Use 5N sensor and modify AA and color filter array is what other camera producers do (pentax, nikon…).Nothing new from Fuji, only color filter array and without AA. Nothing from new sensor tehnology.

2 years ago |The colors of the new Fuji camera are very similar if not the same as I see in images of X100 which corroborates the hypothesis that the sensors in both cameras are made by Sony.

2 years ago |My take is that’s simply a Sony sensor with Fuji own RGB filters array, would be more interesting to know whether the micro lenses are offset like the Fuji X100/Leica M9 or not.
Anyone does know something about that?

Why is it your obligation to inform us about new Sony camera stuff even if it’s not that really interesting.
I would prefer that you focus on NEX / SLT / FF stuff rather than (indeed) boring P&S stuff.
Like yours, our time is also valuable and while I appreciate your work on this site, feel free not to bother us with “junk”.
Having said that, your site, your rules.

I’am an Alpha user (formerly Canon) since early 2011 (A55, SAL1118 & SAL18250).
Since I tend to be brand-loyal, don’t feel comfortable using GoPro Hero for outdoor shooting.
Do you think this new Bloggie Sport could match Go Pro performance?

2 years ago |Awwe c’mon,….its only once a year and these cameras are the little cousins to our Alphas and NEX’s.
I’m curious about that wicked Sony “floating” balanced stabilization on that CX760! Tell me thats not interesting!

2 years ago |Jack have to disagree ,everyone is different and as much as I like BIG news about BIG cameras I welcome news about smaller ones like this little Bloggie also. Been waiting for one like this from Sony (the original one were not water, shock proof) as I live in SFLorida(my Ac is still on) I could use one at the beach/Theme/Water parks etc when I want to go really Light and water/shock proof. (as in it fits in the pocket of my Swim Trunks) Which the Nex is/does not. This little Cam is far from “Junk”

2 years ago |Sony IMX071 is sensor inside NEX-5N and a lot of others. And it is sensor inside X-Pro1. CFA and sensor are different things and you can put Fuji CFA on Sony sensor without problems. That also explains “superior high ISO performace”. Well sure it has superior performace when its same sensor as in D7000.
That might give some very interesting results, especially considering that thing doesnt have AA.. (tho it will largely depend on how good will be SW assembling final photos as its not regular Bayer matrix). As its Fuji, it will take some time..
Im not sure why anyone would be suprised, X100 uses Sony sensor, X10 uses Sony sensor, what you expected from X-Pro 1? Fuji sensor?
passer-by
2 years ago |Maybe because Fuji is one of the manufacturers that could break Sony’s domination of large sensor making business. They’re expecting something new from Fuji.
