One more…ehm lens adapter for NEX :)

via DC.watch
Neither DSLR/SLT users nor NEX camera owners could enjoy some real good news from the lens front at CES. We only had those two non spectacular Sigma lenses (with no offense to Sigma that can make some very superb lenses!). Now we have one more not so cool news
Kenko announced a new T to E mount adapter for the Tokina 400mm f/8.0 mirror lens (see picture on top). It’s an all silver edition. The adapter should be priced at $200. If you are really in the market for this I would rather go for the Sony 500mm f/8.0 mirror (Click here to see them on eBay) or the Sony 900mm f/8.0 mirror (Click here to see them on eBay). Those are A-mount lenses and you can use them with any current cheap Chinese adapter

2 years ago |Andrea, I have to disagree with you here. ANY new E mount lens news and development is good news. For those of us who prefer a newer generation, Auto-focusing lenses, this is a move inn the right direction, regardless of your opinion of the new Sigmas. I for one see them as interesting and the 30mm does seem like a much better option than the Sony version.

2 years ago |it’s a typo, Sony=Minolta 500mm f8.0.

2 years ago |Actually not a typo. If you click the link, it shows 900mm/8 mirror lenses in Sony mount.

2 years ago |ok, but it is NOT a Sony…
and honestly, a “Kelda” 900mm f8.0 for APSC only, for 200€ ?
Seems interesting ! lol

2 years ago |Its probably Samyang or something like that. Might be decent considering focal lenght and f-stop. Not that much donuts!
500mm f8 on other hand is quite picky about background (more donuts!).
Tho not many reasons to not buy Minolta/Sony 500mm f8 .. cause its with AF.

Tripod very necessary.

2 years ago |That’s awesome, and it looks NEX-sized. But where could I find the Tokina 400mm? (or any reviews for that matter?)

2 years ago |As far as I know the major announcement here is the lens and not the adapter, it’s a brand new design and could actually be very good. Some mirror lenses are very decent and always very compact for their power. Some people also enjoy the donut bokeh. It may well be very poor but let’s not write it off yet? It certainly looks better on the outside than any mirror lens I have ever seen.

2 years ago |I’ve just seen a photo of the lens on a camera and it’s really tiny for a 400mm, I hope it’s good although there’s only a few good mirror lenses really.

2 years ago |as-noted the 900 is an off-brand. The ones I saw were bell+howell. Dunno who makes them, really (and who rebadges).
Is this a generic “T” mount adapter? That’s reasonably interesting — in addition to T-mount lenses, T / T2 are the two industry-standard microscope and/or telescope adapters; the main interest-value here being that Tokina is one of the “big 3″ of non-OEM lensmakers, with a reputation for solid build.
