4 months ago |More interesting question: what’ll be the price of the second generation 19 & 30mm SIGMA lenses and of the 60mm? Would like to buy the 30mm for it’s good image quality, so if the new one won’t be that much more expensive I’d better go for that.

4 months ago |What’s your exact complaint with the focus ring? Aren’t large focus rings like that generally desired? It’s autofocus anyways so I can’t see why there would be a problem.

4 months ago |AF is only decent when shooting at f/2.8. I often have to tweak it. The sigma had a very jerky focus ring; not smooth to twist. So tweaking focus wasn’t easy. That’s my exact experience and I read about others having the same complaint on dpreview.

4 months ago |Oh, my understanding is that NEX cameras open the lens aperture up when autofocusing, and then closes it to your desired setting when you take the shot. So it shouldn’t matter what f-stop you’re shooting at, since it always autofocuses using f/2.8

4 months ago |I just bought the 19mm. How can you go wrong? With lenses going for $800, $1000, and $1500 you can build an arsenal of lenses for a song. Yes, those expensive lenses are better but if you hold off until you can afford them, how many shots will you have missed?
